Zara collects phobias the way other girls collect Facebook friends. Little wonder, since life's been pretty rough so far. Her father left, her stepfather just died, and her mother's pretty much checked out. Now Zara's living with her grandmother in sleepy, cold Maine so that she stays "safe." Zara doesn't think she's in danger; she thinks her mother can't deal.

Wrong. Turns out that guy she sees everywhere, the one leaving trails of gold glitter, isn't a figment of her imagination. He's a pixie-and not the cute, lovable kind with wings. He's the kind who has dreadful, uncontrollable needs. And he's trailing Zara.

With suspense, romance, and paranormal themes, this exciting breakout novel has readers rapidly turning the pages.

Reviews

  • I'm not one to read Fey books, but this one had a decent enough rating on GoodReads so as soon as I saw it sitting on the library shelf I had to pick it up.

Zara's mom sends 16 year old Zara to live with her stepfather's mother in Maine. Ever since her stepfather died of a heart attack right in front of her she hasn't been the same. Citing a list of phobias whenever she's feeling particularly emotional her thought turn to the list to distract herself.

Much like a plot that lines up with Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, Zara is the new girl in town and also catches the eye of residential hottie, Nick. With the whimsical thoughts of a teenage girl that screams how "hot" her crush is, the writing is fluid, a little corny and an entertaining read.

Filled with feys, werewolves, and other paranormal creatures of the sort, Need captured my attention and gave me an entertaining read to begin my journey into the pixie world.

It's been a while since I read a good book that I can't let go. This one is the 1st book of the series and I got all of them and I can't wait to read the next one. This series is not about Vampires it is about pixie. One again there's a romance and some suspense. If you liked Vampire Academy and the House of Night series (which I may add are my favorite up to date) you will love this series as well. Please Enjoy!

    Good But Not The Best

I liked this book but I thought it was a bit unrealistic. The story was good but it wasn't really my favorite. It was well-written though. I would recommend it to preteens and teens from 12 to 14...

Terrible. This book is terrible. The plot line is predictable, the main character is constantly whining... What the hell happened to the female characters that can look after themselves???

I did not like the twist at the ending, and all-in-all the story was just silly. The romance was a joke.

I cannot believe that I wasted my money on this book. It wasn't stimulating, exciting or anything exceptional.

I would not recommend this book to anyone who likes characters with backbone. The main character is just another replica of Stephanie Meyers"Bella."
