New Moon

by Stephenie Meyer

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers | May 31, 2008 | Trade Paperback

Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won''t be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy''s reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

New Moon Disappoints!

Bailey Crawly

At a first glance, New Moon is the much-anticipated, exciting, breathtaking sequel to Twilight. When one actually reads the book, they notice that New Moon isn't what it should be. Edward leaves Bella to "keep her safe", and Bella goes insane without him. Then she finds out that the Volturi (vampire killers) are going to kill Edward and Bella must save him.
Although it's written in strong details (much like it's prequel), this sequel disappoints. It portrays Bella as a weak person because of her insanity without her lover, and her depression is unrealistic, if not sickening. It's hard to get through, rather boring, spawned a HORRIBLE movie and doesn't have a nice flow. However, if you want to finish the Twilight series, I would still recommend you read this book because it is true that there are facts in New Moon that you are required to know in order to enjoy the following two novels in the series. I was disappointed by New Moon!
