New Moon

by Stephenie Meyer

September 6, 2006 | Hardcover

Shoot, I muttered when the paper sliced my finger; I pulled it out to examine the damage. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut.It all happened very quickly then.Edward threw himself at me, flinging me back across the table...I tumbled down to the floor by the piano, with my arms thrown out instinctively to catch my fall, into the jagged shards of glass. I felt the searing, stinging pain that ran from my wrist to the crease inside my elbow. Dazed and disoriented, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm-into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires.Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won''t be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy''s reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

One of the best series ever! With this book a chapter or two in I was throwing it at the wall just to go and pick it up again and continue reading. It turned out to be one of my favourites of the series. I could not put it down! This book actually made me switch sides to Team Jacob until the very last book

It is official...I am addicted to this series. I look forward to curling up on the couch and reading Meyer's book. I am so enthralled! I am at the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen between Bella & Edward. Truly a good love story; maybe not great, but definitely a must read.

    A Great Book!!

This was a really good book..not my favourite in the series at first but after reading a second time it really grew on me.I will admitt that I was soo upset at what happened between Edward & Bella that I immediately skipped to the end to see what happens, then I went back and continued reading the whole book. I am sure a lot of people who are/were team Edward did that, but I will admit I did like it. In New Moon you get a better understanding of Jacob and who he is to Bella and how he sees her. There friendship is made stronger, even after Jacob reveals his secret to Bella, but then it is tested in the end.

This book is not just for silly teenage girls. it is a good read for all ages and all sexs. We have all had the chance to explore feelings and this is one great example of it. And it helps that there are scary monsters like Vamps and Weres. This is not Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake but it is the same vein and it is a good read. Meyers is writing about a teenager who is experiencing love for the first time to someone who just happens to be a vampire. I think the series is worth reading.

Everyone thinks the series is ssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooo great because of HANDSOME WEREWOLFS AND VAMPIRES! Ya whatever. Maybe if teenage girls stopped obsessing over Edward they would see the real story line. The real story line is Edward leaves Bella and she goes suicidal. Bella then goes to Jake who gets her back to reality. Edward comes back and what happens to Jake? Oh well Bella forgets all about him. I mean how shallow can you get! She forgets all about Jake because her sparkely boyfriend is back.

Really people stop obsessing over the characters and see the really story that lies underneath. Trust me this story doesn't sparkel like edward.

Since when was suicidal behaviour an acceptable reaction to your boyfriend leaving you?

I don't know what it is, exactly, that makes people think that the Twilight series is a great life model for teenage girls, but it concerns me greatly. This book just cements the idea that Bella's entire self-worth is based around Edward, and, quite honestly, it's very disturbing. Meyer, if you'd been out to write a psychological horror series, you would have done very well.

Without giving too much away, I'd have to say I enjoyed New Moon a bit more than I did Twilight. There just seemed to be more emotions other than "I love you" to this [continued] story.

When everything changes at once, Bella is forced to live a different life. Finding new ways to to be reckless (I mean other than hanging out with vampires), she continues to attract danger.

Although I still found a few grammatical and spelling errors, I did enjoy the story. Seriously though, where were the proofreaders?
(example on page 343 Chapter 15; "I do spent most of my time with Jacob, though.")

This is the second novel in the twilight series. Bella and Edward try to continue their relationship as human and vampire. However, at Bella's birthday gathering at the Cullen's house, Bella gets a paper cut and yup, blood comes out. Jasper, as being the newly appointed vampire in the clan, can not control his urge, and he tries to attack Bella. Of course, Edward protects Bella from the attack, but he notices that he and his family are putting Bella in danger every day. Edward and his family move away in order to keep Bella safe. However, Bella soon finds friendship and comfort in Jacob. But Jacob isn't all he appears to be.... This book is filled with shocking twists, romance, friendship and of course, emotions.

Okay. Again, not a huge fan of this novel and it is for the most part, related to my age. What I like is the developement of the werewolf story and perhaps the set-up for the next book regarding Bella at odds with her boyfriend, her best friend and the treaty that has existed for many centuries. What I don't like is how Bella drives me crazy. She is a silly girl albeit she is brave. Reading Bella's thoughts and how she gets to a decision just makes me wish that she was offed in the novel so that there is no part 3 & 4. I think Bella is almost a terrible person, dumb and very empty of personality. I find it hard to relate to her and if I was 18 all over again, she would not be a person I would hang out with. For the record, this book sparked little conversation between myself, the neice and nephew.
I would still encourage the young population to read this any day.

... at first I didn't really like this book because in the middle it was pretty much a daily routine of Bella's time she spent with Jacob which sort of made it boring after a point. However, it didn't mean I didn't like Jacob's character. I think he's one of my favorites in the novel, though I do pretty much like everyone. They all have a specialty and uniqueness that make up themselves. Yet, in the end I was sort of taken aback when Edward proposed to Bella, because all of a sudden the book was more moving and interesting to read. I'd recommend it to anyone! It's a great romance trilogy!

    Happy Reading! :)

Any way, very good book. however i didn't enjoy it as much as the others. this is not because a certain somebody was out of the picture (which is why everyone else doesnt like it), but i just found bella's time with the quileutes was kinda.. well. boring. uneventful. it just.. dragged on. :s

But of course you still should go and read it because the ending is TERRIFIC and plus the series as a whole is totally awesome :)

Even before I read this , I knew something was going to happen, but when I opened it and started to read. Edward left! Now, what`s Bella`s life going to be without Edward?? Sorrow, sadness, and obviously a yearning for him to come back! It was all there in black in white, but I was kind not really as reeled in to it as I was when I read Twilight. The part when Edward was gone was pretty much painful for Bella, but when he came back, that was when the book stepped back up.

I was so heartbroken in the begining! It made me cry and I'm not ashamed to say so. The rest of the book from then on was so sad. I love the way the author describes every single feeling the charactersexperience. I was so happy to find out that the ending was, of course, happy. It was a great read. Read it. It'll make you cry.

This book is a fabulous sequel to "Twilight", with all the breathtaking drama, excitment, and romance the first book gave you. I would recommend this book for girls ages 13 to 18.

This book was absoloutely amazing! At the end of Twilight, Meyer left you wanting more, who could have asked for a better sequel? I thought this book in particular was exceptionally great because you really got to see the true colours of Jacob Black. Some people I know cried when Edward left, but as a Team Jacob fan, I thought it was clever of Meyer to show Jacob's side a bit more. For later on in the series, Bella would have to choose between the two.

    A Twist of a Tale

The second chapter in the series, follows and leads exceptionally well out of the shadows of Twilight.

It gives us not only more of our beloved characters, but it also adds more action, gives us more characters and sheds more light on the ties of some of the characters pasts.

If you've read Twilight, be sure to read New Moon... and while you're at it... might as well pick up the others to finish it off, because you're going to want to pick them up as soon as you are done this one.

" I'm not going to kill you because it would upset bella, but if you ever bring her back damaged again- and i don't care whose fault it is; I don't care if she merely trips, or a meteor falls out of the sky and hits her in the head- if you return her to me in less then perfect condition that i left her in, you will be running with 3 legs. Do you understand that, mongreal? And if you ever kiss her again, i will break your Jaw for her"

This Book was great. Although a lot of people might have been upset about the beginning, I still loved it. Stephenie Meyer described the emotions bella was feeling so well. It had me in tears, it was so realistic, and It was also fresh to learn more about Jacob, and To Read about Jacob and bella's friendship evolving. This book was great sequel. It had me crying, laughing, and everything in between. I recommend this book for any reader. People are making the mistake of assuming these can only be enjoyed by a teen audience. I strongly disagree. Any adult interested in this type of Genre would love it. And by Genre I mean Romance and Paranormal Romance. As long a you like the Mushy stuff lol.
