    A Sad Disappointment

    Carroll Merritt

I was really hopeful that this book would be part of our family Christmas Tradition. Sadly, the artwork at times was to say the lest disturbing. Santa looked like a demon elf and my sons were a bit frightened of the image. If you are looking for a delightful cheerful illustrated version pass this one by. Next time I will go into the store and preview the book first!

Robert Sabuda books are amazing. The main picture, as well as the side pages, is very intricate. I would highly recommend this book for older children or for younger children with grownup help.

Another Robert Sabuda book to add to your collection. He takes a well known classic and uses clever, detailed pop-ups to illustrate the story. Watch out for the two reindeers that jump out at you. As typical of Sabuda, he saves the best for the last page!
