This book starts off as a joy to read, the text flows and you begin
learning all about the beginnings of Muhammad and the rise of
Islam. It follows the spiral of pain with his passing and you start
to understand just how confusing all religions get when they divide
themselves according to insignificant belief differences. The lack
of physical leadership, the inability to see the bigger picture
plagues us all still to this day.
The book started to lose me when it dug deep 5 generations past
Muhammad, all the names of rulers can get confusing and just didn't
peak my interest as much as the stories of Muhammad did.
Over all my goal was too try to understand Islam from a teachers
interpretation for a westerner, and it did more than i expected.
Even my wife who is a Muslim did not know a lot of the facts i
presented to her. Yet on the cautionary side, all translations and
interpretations are still subject to the author/writers opinion and
he states that very clearly at the beginning of the book.
