In order to survive, the Igibys must flee to the safety of the Ice Prairies, where the lizardlike Fangs of Dang cannot follow. First, however, they have to escape the monsters of Glipwood Forest,1 the thieving Stranders of the East Bend,2 and the dreaded Fork Factory.3
But even more dangerous are the jealousies and bitterness that threaten to tear them apart, and Janner and his siblings must learn the hard way that the love of a family is more important than anything else.

Once again I got transported to Aerwiar with the company of the Igibys. Each child has learned of their heritage and is trying to come to term with it. It's quite a responsibility to learn that you are a Throne Warden, the High King and the Song Maiden….
You will travel with the Igibys and run for your life from the Fangs. Each page will bring it's load of adventure and events to keep your breath away. But have no fear, The Maker is with them and even though they get separated at one point, they will find their way to be together again - but for how long?
You will attend wild escapes, cross the Miller's Bridge, discover where Peet the Sock man is, meet the Stranders, form allies, get caught and send to the Fork Factory, escape from the hands of The Overseer (which has never been done before), run for your life over and over again, encounter various animals all wonderful and bizarre at the same time, make allies and meet the ones who would betray you, get introduced to the Stonekeeper, follow a maze of underground tunnels, cross the Stony Mountains and arrive safely to the Ice Prairies, visit the cave of a Bomnubble at your risk and peril, discover the past of the grand-father, discover that another breed of Fangs exist, and even encounter and talk to sea dragons.
You will find so much in this novel that when you are done, you will need to catch your breath. North! Or Be Eaten picks up where the previous book left us hanging. But again, this book finishes and you want to know more - like what will they find when they arrive to their destination? Could it be that Esben is not dead? If so where is he? What was so important in the castle for him to stay behind when the Fangs attacked so many years ago? What other creatures the Igibys - or should I say the Wingfeathers will find? What adventures awaits them? Could the charm of the Stonekeeper can be broken somehow? What will happen to the family? Will the Fangs ever leave?
Oh! How much I wish that Andrew Peterson would release his next book soon… but I understand that it is good to keep the readers wanting for more. So please, Mr. Peterson, write book three of the Wingeather Sage real fast… I want to read more about this wonderful family and their adventures! Can you tell I had a wonderful time with these characters?
After reading book two of the saga, it only confirms my idea of reading this to my kids. I am sure that they will enjoy it as much as I did. The best part is that the chapters are just the perfect number of pages for reading before bedtime. And once again, the book cover looks like an old book and will catch your imagination. You will find the beloved footnotes at the bottom of some pages as well as wonderful pictures from the creatures encountered throughout the book. A map will help your to follow the travels of the Igibys as well as an appendices will give you more information or details on certain things.

Praise for
North! Or Be Eaten

"Peterson deserves every literary prize for this fine book. It is obvious that his musical talents have been put to good use as his use of words, plot and narrative read like a well scored film script. A very fine book, by a very fine writer and future talent. Amazing - thrilling and well worth reading again and again."
-G. P. Taylor, New York Times best-selling author of Shadowmancer and The Dopple Ganger Chronicles

"Toothy cows are very dangerous. Andrew Peterson convinced me and shivers run down my spine at the very thought of meeting a toothy cow face to face. The author spills characters like Podo and Nurgabog onto the page, then weaves a tale of danger that holds the reader captive. Believe me, you will relish being held captive by this master storyteller. But be sure you don't get caught by the Stranders. Those people just ain't civilized."
-Donita K. Paul, author of The Vanishing Sculptor

"In a genre overrun by the gory and the grim, Peterson's bite-sized chapters taste more like a stew of Gorey (Edward) and Grimm (the Brothers). North! Or Be Eaten is a welcome feast of levity--and clearly a labor of love. Andrew Peterson has awakened my inner eight-year-old, and that is a very good thing."
-Jeffrey Overstreet, author of Auralia's Colors and Cyndere's Midnight

"An immensely clever tale from a wonderful storyteller - filled with great values and even greater adventure!"
-Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales

"Thrills, chills, spine-tingling mystery, and lots of smiles. It's not easy to combine heart-pounding danger with gut-busting laughs and make it work, but Peterson pulls it off. For readers who want nonstop action infused with powerful, life-changing themes, North! Or Be Eaten is a must-read."
-Wayne Thomas Batson, best-selling author of The Door Within Trilogy, Isle of Swords and Isle of Fire

"Andrew Peterson is a gifted storyteller, scene painter and wordsmith who takes you on a rollicking white-water ride of adventure. Readers of all ages are sure to find North! Or Be Eaten worthy of a big mug filled with a favorite beverage and a cozy nook near a crackling fire for hours on end. Here there be tales within yarns within stories. Listen, reader, bend your ear, but keep an eye peeled lest the dreaded Fangs of Dang be near!"
-R. K. Mortenson, author of Landon Snow and The Auctor's Riddle
