So where do I begin? I adored Terri and Nathan, their passion for
justice, their lines between right and wrong, including the grey
areas. I think they balance each other perfectly.
Terri is stubborn, has a mind of her own, with something to prove,
I think more for herself and anyone else. She pushes herself, even
when she should be taking a break. She believes vehemently in right
and wrong.
Nathan wants to find the person who killed his brother. While his
is a sort of vigilante justice, something Terri abhors, he isn't
killing anyone. He's saving that for the one person who actually
pulled the trigger.
What I liked was the spice between them, the electicity spiked the
second they were together, even when neither knew who or what the
other was.
Lots of action and suspense, with a little romance mixed in. An
excellent mix. The plot seemed a little far-fetched to me, but
still doable, and the ending has an unresolved issure that has me
wondering if it will be part of the next plot.
This is what I found different: While there is usually lots of
interaction between all agents of the B.A.D., there was hardly any
here. Very little laughs when usually there's quite a bit. It was
almost like the author didn't really know the characters. And that
has me wondering… There's a co-author to this, something I haven't
seen Sherri do before, not on one of her own stories. And I wonder
if it was the co-author who wrote most of it. While I really hate
to admit that, because I adore the series, that's the feel I'm
getting. Not to say that's a bad thing, don't get me wrong. It just
didn't have the same feel as the other B.A.D. stories. I've never
read, nor have I heard, of Dianna Love Snell, so I don't know what
her writing style is like, so I can't fault her.
While I thoroughly enjoyed this, I can't give it my usual 5-star
rating. And that doesn't sit well with me. This novel was well past
a year overdue - I think it's actually closer to two. The next
novel is supposed to be Joe and Tee's story and it should have been
out by now. I know she's really busy with her DH series (which I
can't get enough of), and her other series' as well, and I'm hoping
the next one doesn't have a co-author. Joe and Tee deserve more of
her attention. If not, I'm really scared that the B.A.D. series is
going to suffer.
