Being a firm believer of "f/8 and be there" and "it's the
photographer behind the camera who takes a picture", I have been
desperately trying to find good books which would broaden my
creative options. There were lots of books about lighting and other
technical stuff, but somehow on the subject of composition, the
books were either absolutely useless garbage or too trivial. They
were all talking about too basic things which I already learned
over the years by taking over 30,000 pictures already. Every single
book on composition was a disappointment.
Then, I discovered this book "Photographer's Eye". It really
opened my eyes, also taught me why in specific certain things
worked and certain things didn't. The book provided me with new
skill set and ability to analyze a photograph. Now, I have a better
ability to judge which photo is more dynamic or powerful when there
are similar photos in my view, or to see and capture a critical
moment. I just don't know how to describe this brand new
revelation. I guess that is why Mr. Freeman gets paid so much for
what he does.
