This is the first book in the Demonica series and I really liked it, I wasn't to sure how it would turn out because I haven't really read anything about demons but this turned out really great. I thought the concept of a demon slayer getting hurt on duty and getting treated in a hospital that is run by demons was a good twist to things. I really liked the characters and the story was really good as well so I will be picking up the next in the series. Check it out. :0)

This is a Demon vs. Human series, basically paints both species in a bad light. Here we have Demons being heroes or someone to cheer for, but yet they a beast, liars, and not to be trusted. The Humans are ignorant, brutal killing machines. I mean really, how can you like either species at all. I was not fond of Larissa Ione's portrayal of the whole fantasy world, but I guess that is just a personal preference.
Tayla, the main female character, was a problem for me, she only saw things from one side, her side. And after awhile it really got on my nerves. Eidolon, the main male character, treated Tayla like a charity case, meanwhile she is supposed to be this tough Demon Slayer. Not to mention having a major ego problem. Eidolon and Tayla were not an appealing couple.
I fond I was more interested in what happened to the secondary characters, Eidolon brothers, Shade and Wraith are the characters that leave you wanting more. This book does have promise, sizzling passion, hot sex, and wild chases.
I really struggled to finish this book, needless to say I don't think I will be reading the rest of the Demonica series.

    Better than I expected

I honestly didn't have much expectation for this book. Mostly because of the cover. Seeing as it's a romance, I thought the storyline would be weak. Boy was I wrong.
The Demonica Series is one of my favorite series of all time.
The storyline is riveting, the book a page turner filled with action, drama, emotions, believable characters and amazing chemistry not only between the main character and his heroine but between the three brothers, Eidolon, Shade and Wraith.
This first installment of the series sees Eidolon, the eldest brother, head physician of Underworld General Hospital, is fighting everyday against his nature. As a Seminus Demon, he is an Incubus who needs sex to survive. Soon he is facing a life altering change, his "becoming of age" so to speak which will turn him into a raging monster and he would rather die than become such a monster. Tanya, a Demon Slayer is brought to the hospital with life threatening injuries and even thought she is a sworn enemy, he saves her life, finding her the most fascinating being he's ever come across.
The love story is great, but what's most enthralling about the story is the bond between the brothers, the line between good and evil. Seeing some fallen angels being far more evil than Demons or Humans being more violent than both. There is no limit to Ione's writing and I will probably end up reading everything she's ever written.

Welcome to Larissa Ione's utterly imaginative world of Demonica, full of demons, vampires, shifters, weres, slayers, humans and every combined half version of them. PLEASURE UNBOUND is a great ride that I just couldn't put down; action packed, erotic and sinfully dark with witty humour and engaging, fresh characters. Including a kick-ass heroine and her uber-sexy, scrub wearing Demon love interest. It's the perfect combination of paranormal romance and urban fantasy and it's oh so good.

Tayla has been taught that all demons are evil and since they are also responsible for the death of her mother she has dedicated her life to destroying them, she is a demon-slayer, an Aegi. So when a slaying goes bad, killing her partner and she finds herself laid up in UGH (underworld general hospital) all she can think about is taking names and then taking the place down. (And unreasonably the cute doctor able to heal with a simple touch.)

Eidolon is a Seminus demon doctor, sworn to heal and protect even the worst of his world. He is also nearing his transition, a change that will cause him to go mad with lust, craving every woman in his path and likely getting himself killed by a jealous male in the process. He is fighting the change but when Tayla enters his realm even though he hates the Aegi, all bets are off.

The underlying moral here isn't unique; what if your entire belief system was destroyed by getting to know and spending time with your enemy? What if you discovered that they weren't the evil incarnate you'd been led to believe but in fact were no different from yourself? That they had families, jobs and problems and thought YOU were the evil one. And what if it then came to be that you were actually one of them?

Pleasure Unbound is the first in the Demonica series and like I said it's original and fantastic. Eidolon's demon brothers really piqued my interest and I look forward to reading their books in particular bad-boy Wraith's story. I would also highly recommend this to fans of the Ward's BDB who will see several similarities between the sets of "brothers" with their tortured pasts, sacrifices for each other and continual bantering. Cheers!
