Maybe not an appropriate review title, but I have to say that I was taken aback by Eckhart Tolle's writing in this novel. Having already read and loved A New Earth, I though this book was written with bittern, jaded disappointment in the human society. I did not find much inspiration or value in this novel, which will come as surprise to almost every one, but the truth is I did not like it. However, there were some redeemable moments in the chapters. Some that I liked very much, but certainly not enough to redeem the book.

This is a wonderful set of CD's that has a very calming effect on the listener. Now is important not what happened yesterday or what could happen tomorrow. We don't spend enough time in the Now and this set of CD's helps get you there

This book provided me with the best explanation for why our lives do not work and what we can do about it.

It was very important that this author mentioned how he set-up this book, otherwise, people would be reading it just on the surface (which included alot of religious/spiritual quotes that some people may not relate to) and not see the underlying meaning of what he is trying to convey. All the jargon like pain-bodies, mental noise, surrender, etc are used to illustrate complex ideas in a simplistic way. This book showed me a new way of thinking and also helped me deal with alot of unresolved emotional pain that I couldn't find a way to get out. I can go to sleep at night feeling peace because instead of dwelling on the past and worrying about what the future might bring, I am living in the "Now."

This book is excellent it can be read by a novice or someone who has had realizations and actually experienced stillness. Very interesting. An open mind is necessary. I don't fully believe all of it but again it raises a lot of questions and gets you thinking. Great conversation piece.

Eckhart Tolle weaves together a masterpiece for how we can all live in the now.

If living mindfully in the present seems like an impossibility, this book will serve as a valuable guide.

Written in everyday language this book is as practical as it is profound.

I wish I could put into words how I feel this book has changed my life, but I can't. Trust me when I say you should pick up this book today and read it. I wasn't able to put it down. The words written in this book really amazed me, words that I wasn't able to explain and words I thought only I knew of. Eckhart Tolle has changed my life. Since reading this book I have become a better person... or, I should say I am able to get to that better person easier. I actually have read this book, along with A New Earth over a couple times each. Whenever anyone is interested in these books, I immediately hand them over. If I can pass along Eckhart's teachings to anyone, I will.

Read it, live it and let your problems disappear with the awareness of the truth contained in the pages of this book. Simply a must have. Every human being should read this book.

This is an important book, and one that will change your life. Simple,
truthful, wise, and patient. Required reading for the human race.

... especially for Tolle's thoughts on the manifested/ unmanifested universe. But for a much clearer, and vastly more in depth, analysis I'd recommend the writings of Vernon Howard, especially his book The Mystic Path to Cosmic Power. When I first listened to the PON tapes, I was blown away. I thought Tolle had really discovered something. But when I started tapping into Vernon Howard, I realized that most of what's in the Power of Now is pretty much old news. (He says, a little facetiously.)

I found this book to be a greater clarification of spirituality but certain aspects left me puzzled.

1. His writtings try to weave together
christian and buddhist ideologies,
but buddhist's do not believe in God
or the existence of a soul.

2. Does not explain the ramifications
or consequences imposed onto the
individual when past crimes are
punished by society repeatedly.

3. Not as many different scenarios or practical
examples to demonstrate how this
methodology successfully show its
effectiveness.

If you buy only one book on how to have a happier life, this one should be it. It gives absolutely excellent insights into how to live in the present moment and live with constant joy in your life. This book can be an indispensable staple in making your dreams come true. It certainly changed my life.

I was the stereo typical construction worker, full of attitude and the unhealthy lifestyle...although many changes occured in my life prior to reading this book, it was the next step for me and relayed the right message at the right time, I was searching and although I did not find in this book, it at least made clear what I was searching for and in that I realised the search will always be on....A good read...

A fabulous book to help me on the way, it has a simple, straight forward wording that really appealed to me. This was a tremendously moving book, I will read it frequently to help me on my way...
