    Not enough passion

I found it a little difficult to get into this book because I just didn't feel like there was enough passion between the two main characters to justify their actions, especially in the beginning. I think the story itself is interesting, but needed to be written better for me to have enjoyed it.

    Beautiful haunting sensuality

Jennifer Ashley has created a convincing society where shifters are legally leashed. Liam and Kim are the two main characters in this beautifully sexy story. I like the realness and sass of Kim as well as her strength. I found the plot engaging but easy to guess, however the foundation of the back story is very promising. Can't wait for the next book of this serie.

This was the first book in the new “Shifters Unbound” series and I have to say it was pretty good. When I read the reviews it said that if you like the Lora Leigh Breed series then you’d like this one; very true. Shifters are a race of beings who have the ability to change into animals. They were offered collars by the Fae that would control their violent urges and allow them to live among the human. Except human aren’t as accepting of the Shifters to their world, keeping them from having the same rights as humans. So when one of them is accused of murdering his human girlfriend, it’s a huge surprise when human lawyer Kim Fraser takes the job defending him. She’ll do whatever it takes to prove his innocence, even facing Liam Morrissey, a sexy Shifter who can turn into a wildcat. As Kim sets out to find the truth she also finds herself mated to Liam and unable to tear herself away from him. This was a great book and I cannot wait for Sean’s (Liam’s brother) story. You find yourself drawn to the other characters in the book and you want to hear their story. If you’re a fan of the Breed’s but find them a tad too moody, then this is the series for you.

    Addictive read

Pride Mates was filled with sexy, erotic scenes but it also had humor that encouraged you to keep reading. A little confusing until you get into the book. You start out with a lot of questions about Shifters and Shiftertown but as the plot thickens those answered are slowly answered. I couldn't put it down.

    Well written plot

I have always enjoyed Jennifer Ashley books and this one was no exception. Liam and Kim are a great match. She is fiery and independent and he is the overprotective male to the hilt. This series has similarities to Lora Leigh's breed series. It is different enough to set itself apart but the parallel's are there. If you like Leigh's breed series you should definitely give this book a try. Heat rating would be hot but not on fire. There are loads of interesting secondary characters - I am hoping that we will get to hear there stories later. The secondary suspense plot was well done and kept me reading long after I should have gone to bed.
