"[Kwa] explores themes of humanity in a captivating manner that results in a truly unique novel, written with passion and imagination."

-Calgary Herald (The Walking Boy)

"Beautifully written, hauntingly poetic, with a cast of memorable characters, a tale that deals with the fragility of life, love and family ties."

-Books in Canada (This Place Called Absence)

"Lush and lyrical, Kwa's spellbinding portrait of dispirited women haunted by ghosts and hampered by circumstance echoes with raw, emotive drama."
