by Patricia Green, Carolyn Hemming

Whitecap Books | February 18, 2011 | Trade Paperback

One of the world`s healthiest foods, quinoa contains a perfect balance of all eight essential amino acids, and is a great source of protein, making it an increasingly popular food choice for those looking to incorporate `superfoods` into their everyday diets. Gluten-free, wheat-free, and nutrient-packed, quinoa is ideal for those who are health-conscious, vegetarian, and/or physically active, as well as for those with gluten intolerance, wheat allergies, and other digestive disorders. But that`s not all: You can eat quinoa guiltlessly knowing it`s free of cholesterol and trans fats. In Quinoa 365 sisters Patricia Green and Carolyn Hemming show you how to use this miraculous superfood in all your favourite dishes.

I watch breakfast television and they were making the quinoa chocolate cake so I had to get the book. The apple strudel breakfast just love it along with other recipes in this book. I had to get my daughters a book and my sister in law

    A little disappointed

I've tried a couple of recipes from this book and they're okay but nothing to write home about. Upon reading many recipes you simply add quinoa to a recipe that could be found in any cookbook or serve a dish on a bed of quinoa. I was also disappointed that the book does not inlcude caloric content or amount of fibre, protein, fat and carbs etc., in each recipe. I'll try a few more recipes and will hopefully find something that really jumps out at me.

Have enjoyed the book so far

I really have enjoyed this cookbook. Everything that I have tried so far has been very easy to prepare and very tastey, specifically the salads. The only critique of this book I have is that it is unfortunate that the authors have not added nutrition content to the recipes. Since it is a healthy alternative cookbook, I was very dissapointed that it did not include any nutrutional information.

I used Quinoa a few times and I really wanted to know home to use it it a variety of recipes. Well, I got it. I have tried many different types from breakfast, salads, desserts, side dish and I was pleased every single time. The recipes are well written and I love how some of the recipes give you tips to prepare in advance so you have less to do when it's time to eat.
I highly suggest this book to anyone who is interested in eating Quinoa more often.

I bought this book for a friend of mine for Christmas and when I brought it home and began to look through it, I found I "needed" a copy for myself. I've since bought three additional copies for friends. The recipes are easy to make, delicious, and the best part is they're healthy too.

"Quinoa 365: The Everyday Superfood" is a quietly unassuming book that packs quite a punch. To say I was caught off guard by how much I enjoyed this book is an understatement. Every recipe I tried was a success. Authors Patricia Green and Carolyn Hemming provide you with an overall education on quinoa, along with exciting new ways to use this seed and truly bring it to life. The book is beautifully photographed, and a wide variety of recipes are included that show you how quinoa can be used as breakfast foods, snacks, salads, soups, in baking and for baby food.

I bought this book to help with improving my diet. I took it to work and everyone "borrowed" recipies. We have all tried different ones and found that they were easy to make and the whole family liked them. I make plain quinoa and mix fresh vegetables in for lunches. It is good hot or cold. It is a great alternative to rice and potatoes. The explanation on how to cook and how much to use was great. The variety of foods from breakfast to dinner to baby food is nice to have. I have purchased 3 more as gifts.
