some parts were great and others just dragged. mainly the first 1/4 of the book was dull. the author just put too much detail and it did not really mean much. it does pick up a lot in the middle and towards the end. a fitting conclusion to the series. very cliche and predictable. the author gives you hints along the way through the last books who is this mysterious angel who could tip the balance of heaven and hell. sorry to see some characters go. one was my fave and the other the author never even mentioned her at the end the book. still think the first novel was the best. honestly, kate could've just finished the series in 3 books instead of dragging it out to 4. i think we could've eliminated book 2 and combined it with 3 and 4. but ultimately, a nice ending to a series it is all you wanted for the characters

The beginning of through the middle of the book was pretty predictable; they need to complete tasks to resolve their problem. But the ending was terrific! I love how it ties back to Fallen & Torment. I felt the ending was perfect

I think that Rapture was the best book out of the whole series. The plot was just amazing, I loved all the detail and the new adventure. It was just a little tiny bit slow in the start then it got really good. The ending itself was just perfect but so sad at the same time. Amazing ending to the series.

when i read the first one it was the best but then the 2 soso and the 3rd i like so the fourth i was expecting something good but i thought this kinda has a twist like twilight like 2 boys liking her and so on but i didnt like it a waist of money

Overall, it was an okay book . But honestly, there was a LOT I didn't like a lot of it . Whenever Luce or Daniel was talking aobut their love, I found it repetitive, cheesy, and boring . I found myself rolling my eyes to their stupid love . -Spoilers- I don't know why, but I just didn't want Luce to end up with Daniel . I ACTUALLY would've preferred Luce to be with Cam or Lucifer . The fact that Luce gave up being an angel just to have a mortal life with Daniel is just... Stupid . I would've found an alternative . Also, the transition from Luce thinking she was some stupid mortal to her being one of the highest and most powerful angels happened so fast it was ridiculous . Daniel knew the whole time she was an angel and never told her . It's weird but I actually felt really bad for Lucifer ... How can a man seriously go for a woman over power, when he could have both ? Come on, Daniel . I honestly don't recommend reading this series . It's sort of a waste of time.

Okay I know that I previously said I didn't really enjoy reading this series, but I found the ending absolutely phenomenal. Yeah, the fact that she turned out to be "one" too was really obvious, I mean I guessed it from book two. But I really liked the character of Dee and I liked how depressing it was at times. I'm not emo or like really dark books or whatever, but I just found most of the series too neutral. Not happy but not sad and VERY predictable. When some people in this book died, I did cry. I like it when a book can bring out emotions like that. But it was the very ending of this book that really impressed me. I couldn't believe what they both had to give up! And the twist involving Lucifer, brilliant!

I remember when I first discovered the “Fallen” series and I was really excited for it. I thought it was such a neat idea…I was in love with the reform school and the gothic/eerie setting of Sword & Cross. What I initially loved about the series was removed after the first book…no more reform school, no more gothic setting. With each additional book, the series got worse and worse, with the final “Rapture” probably the worst of all. I never skim read, but with this one I just HAD to. Nothing happened. It was constant descriptions and boring history lessons. It seemed like there were always “plans for plans”, and so much preparation and traveling…it was so boring. I kept waiting for the excitement but all I got was more exhausting history and even bible talk. When I say nothing happened, that includes Daniel and Luce’s relationship. They had no energy and Luce just went along with everything Daniel said. She was trying to discover their love by interpreting their past lives….yet she really never doubted their love. She never questioned Daniel or fought him, their relationship was too perfect. If Luce ever had any doubts Daniel would easily re-assure her. There were zero conflicts. I gave this 1 star because it was the ultimate let-down of let-downs. I made myself finish this book because I was there from the start of the series, so I wanted to see its end. I didn’t want to throw it away knowing that I’d been with the series for years. I needed to give it a final chance. On a more positive note, I will say that I didn’t see the ending happening like that. I liked finally discovering how Luce and Daniel truly met and it was neat to learn Luce’s REAL history. Also, I thought Luce & Daniel’s choice at the end was the perfect way to conclude their story. I loved that whole idea; it put a smile on my face. Sadly, “Rapture” was NOT an effortless read. I had to physically pull myself through it…and for that reason I can say that I’m happy this series is done. RIP. Wingspeed.

Admittedly, I've had quite a few ups and downs with this series, all happening during the releases of Torment, Passion, and Fallen in Love (the last two being my least favorites). With that said, I can honestly say that I wasn't quite sure whether or not I wanted to make the effort to complete the series. After being let down quite a bit, I almost gave up hope. Luckily, a little birdy nudged me into reading it and after coming face to face with the series' conclusion, I'm glad I did! It's been years since I first fell in love with Fallen, and reading the end of Luce and Daniel's wonderfully dramatic life in the words of Lauren Kate was almost heartbreaking. I really didn't want to let go of this duo. Needless to say though, Lauren Kate didn't fail to completely hook me in instantly with a completely captivating and emotionally driven prologue. In Rapture by Lauren Kate, everything for Luce and Daniel turn into a hectic race against time, and with that I noticed how much both Luce and Daniel had matured from our first meet in Fallen. Without giving too much away to readers who have yet to read Rapture or start the Fallen series, Lauren Kate is a great author who knows how to hook you in immediately and pull you into her world. New readers will be pleased to find that Lauren's characters are easy to relate to and fun to read!

I died and came back to life when I read this book. It is soooooooo AMAZING!!! There couldn't have been a better ending to the series. I loved the tale of Luce and Daniel and Rapture couldn't have ended it any better for me. This book is full with twists and surprises, not the kind that disappoint the reader either, the kind that keep you reading.

( A copy was provided by the publisher for review ) ( originally posted in an email for review to publisher ) Rapture by Lauren Kate is the fourth ( fifth including Fallen In Love ) and final novel in the Fallen series and the book picks up right where Passion left off, the premise of the story follows Luce and Daniel who are our main characters and how they need to stop Lucifer from recreating the Fall of the Fallen Angels and stop time from erasing and the world starting over again, and on top of that Luce needs to find out how she fits in to the scheme of things from her past lives and find a way to stop her curse from ruining her existence. I always get really excited when a new book to this series gets released and this was no exception, I thought the book and story was solid but I will admit it was a bit slow at times and a bit dry. I really liked the progression of the characters, I thought Luce really came in to her own in this story considering all she has had to go through in the previous books, I still really love Daniel I think he is a great match and support system for Luce he really knows his way around problems and makes them seem simpler than they really are. One of the great things in this book were the twists towards the end, I really wasn't expecting things to go down that way and I'm glad that Luce finally found out how she played in to her curse and how her and Daniel really met. The ending to the book was great I thought Lauren Kate tied the book up really well and gave it a solid ending so I wasn't left asking questions. Overall this book was really good if a bit slow, was this my favorite of the series?, no but I was happy how everything turned out, the series as a whole has a been a real treat to read and I look forward to more book by Lauren Kate.
