Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
Having given my life to Christ in my teenage years I have vowed not
to read circular books in terms of books that will not enhance my
life as a believer. So I began to search for interesting writers
that would keep me glued as well as teach me what I needed to
enhance my growth as a young Christian.
I have read so many books but none can be compared to the
"Redeeming Love" written by Francine Rivers, I ran into an old
friend who was clutching on to the book, I got curious and wanted
to know what type of book she was reading, she said it's a must
read!. Long story short, I borrowed the book from her and it
changed my philosophy about forgiveness and the greatest love a
human can give to another human. Redeeming love is the kind of love
story that will keep you turning page after page, as I read it, the
love of God began to run through my mind, I began to see how I
would backslide from my faith and His unconditional love will bring
me back to Him.
The love Michael had for Angel is clearly compared to the kind of
love God has for us, God was able to let Jesus die for our sins
because of the love He has for us, despite all what Angel did in
the story, Michael still took her back (I found that annoying but
then I thought about how God must feel whenever I go back to my
sins). Francine portrayed what real married love should look like
and the contrasts between happiness and sadness, truth and lies,
it's a must read for everyone especially people who are planning on
getting married.
