Remember Me?

by KINSELLA SOPHIE

February 26, 2008 | Hardcover

With the same wicked humor and delicious charm that have won her millions of devoted fans, Sophie Kinsella, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Shopaholic & Baby, returns with an irresistible new novel and a fresh new heroine who finds herself in a life-changing and utterly hilarious predicament….

When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she's in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a car accident-in a Mercedes no less-Lexi has lost a big chunk of her memory, three years to be exact, and she's about to find out just how much things have changed.

Somehow Lexi went from a twenty-five-year-old working girl to a corporate big shot with a sleek new loft, a personal assistant, a carb-free diet, and a set of glamorous new friends. And who is this gorgeous husband-who also happens to be a multimillionaire? With her mind still stuck three years in reverse, Lexi greets this brave new world determined to be the person she…well, seems to be. That is, until an adorably disheveled architect drops the biggest bombshell of all.

Suddenly Lexi is scrambling to catch her balance. Her new life, it turns out, comes complete with secrets, schemes, and intrigue. How on earth did all this happen? Will she ever remember? And what will happen when she does?

I loved this book!! Sophie Kinsella`s book are very entertaining and keep you interest from start to finish. Not as many funny parts as ''I've Got Your Number'', although there was one part that had me laughing so hard I was crying! However, this one was very interesting and kept me hooked the whole way through to see how things were going to turn out for Lexi. Starting the Shopaholic series now. Enjoy!!

I love chick lit, it relaxes me, takes me away to another place where things are simple, easy and happy. Sophie Kinsella's books are for me a perfect getaway from the everyday grind, I enjoyed her Shopaholic series, but I loved her other books more and "Remember Me" in particular. I was into it from the very first pages and can recall thinking that I hoped that I would be able to forget the details of the book quickly, so that I might reread it in a year or so. Well that's exactly what I did over the weekend and I loved it all over again! Thank you Ms. Kinsella for the hours of pleasure that you've given me so far and I hope for many more to come.

Not her best. The story is well written. The characters and storyline are not quite believable.

Not one of Kinsella's best. Although i did like the story line or having to forget who you are to remember who you are there was just something missing. Maybe it was how weird her husband was. I'm not sure. this is a book to pass the time with but nothing more.

Cute. It had its moments but it took a while to get going. Not as good as Can You Keep A Secret?

This was one of my first "grown up" books as I had been reading titles like Wish, Keeping the Moon, Vinyl Princess and the Georgia Nicholson Series. I thought I would try something new, and I LOVED IT! It made me laugh and it had suspense. I especially liked that it was british because I know a lot of the slang and could relate to the book well. If you liked Shopaholic and you're looking for a good but funny book, you'll love this as well. It had friendship tests, humor, family problems, some scandalous acts and a few twists and turns.

Although this is not part of the Shopoholic Series, you can most certainly tell who wrote it. Kinsella's writing style is similar throughout most of her books, but irregardless of this I loved this story. Surley one of her best. I got a few laughs in and was very wrapped up in the story itself very early on.
What a great read, I really enjoyed this one.

A truly enjoyable chick-lit that fulfills that curiosity of what would happen if you lost your memory.

I would venture to assume that many of us have from time to time wondered what would happen if we lost our memory. Would we still be the same person we are at the moment, would our perspective and characteristics change or stay the same. I loved that Kinsella used this concept and made such an enjoyable read.

Did I like the whole affair angle? Not at all. Especially since I couldn't help but feel for her husband who really had no clue what to do with this new woman who was polar opposite of what he'd married.

Really enjoyed the journey that Lexi went through and I found once I started this book I couldn't stop.

Kinsella is a good storyteller. The ending is where I began to ask questions like, why give up the gorgeous, wealthy husband? I had a hard time with the main character's decision to walk away from her wardrobe, her overall wealthy lifestyle, and a husband who in his own way loved her. Kinsella needs to paint a darker picture of the husband so the reader can empathize with the main character’s decision. Regardless, the book is a page turner.

Ok, so this is not at all the type of book / story I usually like. But I decided I wanted a little break from my supernatural / vampire / vampire romance / thriller / horror type that I usually read (which I love).
And I have to admit it was quite fun!! I wasn't very much into it at the beginning, but it grabbed my attention after a while; and I didn't like the main character's sister (Amy) at all; but thankfully she only appears a couple of times. It did make me laugh and it was very entertaining!
So there's Lexi, the main character, who has an accident; when she wakes up, she finds out that she has amnesia and she doesn't remember anything that happened in the last three years. So it's quite a mess, it's fun, stressing, and exciting when you see what she goes through while trying to get back her memory.
So to sum up, it is entertaining, and it will make you laugh!
It was good, but not great!

I love Sophie Kinsella's writing, and of course the Shopaholic series, but Remember Me? takes her writing to a new level, adding depth to the characters and the storyline, while still maintaining the easy, witty writing that Kinsella is known for. It's engaging and unpredictable, thought-provoking yet still fun. If you love Kinsella you'll like this book, but if you're looking for something less light-hearted, you will love it.

Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella (Book Review)
Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella is now in paperback. Ms Kinsella is the author of the internationally best selling Shopaholic Series. She writes funny chic lit with happy endings and this novel has all her usual ingredients for a great read. It is a well written easy read that made me laugh out loud and cry for poor Lexi. The book's ISBN is 05527727653 and it is published by Black Swan. The main character Lexi wakes up in a hospital after a car crash with amnesia and she thinks it is 2004 and she is most unhappy with her life. Gradually, she discovers that it is 2007 and all is prefect. She has a well toned body, she has fixed her teeth, she is no longer in a dead end job she is the director, the director from hell. She meets her husband a drop dead gorgeous millionaire and lives in a penthouse over looking the Thames. The novel is her journey in discovering her path to success. She learns her husband is a control freak and her friends have disowned her. Her sweet little sister is now a hormonal teenager and her job is way too competitive. She wonders is her life really that perfect? Then a hunky man turns up on her doorstep to reveal they are secret lovers. Followers of Sophie Kinsella and chic lit novels will enjoy this, I did. The book was ok. I find that Can you keep a secret? and an Undomestic Goddess are both much better then this one. I find the others to be more funny and this one is more serious.

Can you keep a secret? is definitely my favorite.

I'm happy I read your comment! I just finish reading Remember Me? And I liked it, but didn't love it. I gave it 3 stars. And I was about to ask what other Kinsella books are "better or funnier" than this one! So you recomend Can You Keep a Secret? Thanks!! I'll definately take a look at that one!!
