Join one of America's beloved storytellers on a walk like no other: one man's unrelenting search for hope.

Reeling from the sudden loss of his wife, his home, and his business, Alan Christoffersen, a once-successful advertising executive, has left everything he knew behind and set off on an extraordinary cross-country journey. Carrying only a backpack, he is walking from Seattle to Key West, the farthest destination on his map.

Now almost halfway through his trek, Alan sets out to walk the nearly 1,000 miles between South Dakota and St. Louis, but it's the people he meets along the way who give the journey its true meaning: a mysterious woman who follows Alan's walk for close to a hundred miles, the ghost hunter searching graveyards for his wife, and the elderly Polish man who gives Alan a ride and shares a story that Alan will never forget.

Full of hard-won wisdom and truth, The Road to Grace is a compelling and inspiring novel about hope, healing, grace, and the meaning of life.

About the Author

In 1992 while Richard Paul Evans was an advertising executive, he wrote a story about parental love and the meaning of Christmas for his daughters. The story, The Christmas Box, was copied and passed around to relatives and friends, and was published. It was the number-one selling book on both the hardcover and paperback bestseller lists simultaneously. The book went on to be translated into 17 languages. The Christmas Box was adapted as an Emmy-winning television movie in 1995 starring Richard Thomas and Maureen O'Hara. Evans' second book, Timepiece, was also adapted to television by Hallmark. His newest novel is entitled, Promise Me. Evans has appeared in Time, Newsweek, People, and USA Today and has been seen on the TV shows Entertainment Tonight and The Today Show. He is also a public speaker, traveling the country to bring awareness of the problem of neglected and abused children. In 1997, Evans used his Christmas Box Foundation to begin a shelter for abused and neglected children called the Christmas Box House.
