The Downward Trend Continues

The trend seems to be continuing with the less than stellar books by Robert Munsch being published lately. Much like "Down the Drain" This Munsch is rude, disrespectful, and unlike some past books can't even be guiltily chuckled at. The book starts off well with two children pretending they're lions and roar at appropriate times. Their parents act good naturedly about it and the children don't cross too many lines. Once they get to school their teacher announces that they will be going on a field trip to see what sort of animals are out and about. The two children roar at various animals they encounter and are reprimanded by their teacher every time. The final animal they meet is a mouse which terrifies their teacher. Grinning from ear-to-ear the class decides to roar at their teacher. She is so frightened that she hops the fence and never returns to class. It may not sound so bad here, read and you'll see how pitiful Munsch's writing has become. Granted, he did write some pretty disrespectful stuff in the past, but never on the level of his latest two books...
