    A great sequel!

Another instalment in the Scaredy Squirrel series, by Canadian author, Melanie Watt, Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend is about our favourite little squirrel, Scaredy, and his adventures to add a little company to his life.

As usual, Scaredy Squirrel is scared, scared, scared, and makes a great plan to leave his home to find this friend. As usual, he has a contingency plan set up and, as usual, nothing goes according to plan.

Full of more fantastic illustrations by Watt, this book teaches us that the one you think may make a perfect friend for you may not be the one who's lurking around the corner! Your ideal friend may not be exactly what you thought they would be-and Scaredy Squirrel shows us that that's okay! It's a message for people, young and old.

A wonderful addition to the series, Melanie Watt just keeps getting better and better.

A friend picked this up for our children. It is a great little book, and part of the Scaredy Squirrel series. Scaredy is a little neurotic, and maybe obsessive compulsive. Scaredy is afraid to have any friends because he is afraid of being bitten. So he spends his time alone reading, whistling, doing crafts, knitting and more. Then one day he spots a goldfish in the fountain in the park. The gold fish would make a perfect friend - he's clean, bubbly, quiet and has no teeth. So Scaredy makes a list of all he needs to go and meet the perfect friend: lemon for lemonade, name tag, air freshener, mirror, mittens, toothbrush, comb and candy. Once he is ready he heads out to introduce himself to the goldfish. He creates a perfect plan for how to get to the goldfish with the least exposure. But all that goes awry when he runs into a dog. Then his first big adventure begins.

This is a neat little story for children. It is a pity that Scaredy cannot meet Elliot and his gang from Elliot's Park. I'm sure they would have a great adventure.

    That Neurotic Squirrel is Back!

He's back, and he's still not quite sure about the big wide world. Sure, he likes to fly out and play dead for a while each day, but he'd really like a friend. So, armed with a survey to give potential friends (Hobbies (check one): Biting, or Other), he tries to find himself a harmless friend. But as always, Scaredy Squirrel's plans don't quite go as found. Just as fantastic as the last, this book made me grin from ear to ear. Sure to be a hit with little people and adults alike.
