Caden MacTavish is an ex-marine and a wizard, though he avoids his magic like the plague, but has to learn how to embrace it now that his brother Lucan has gone into mate mourning. Lucan's mate Anka was ripped from him by Mathias, him forcing her to break her bond with Lucan. Now Lucan is in a crazy mental state, not being stable at all. Since Lucan is his only living brother Caden agrees to stay with Bram and the Doomsday brethren and help them, though it is with great reluctance. His mission is to stop a reporter from publishing her articles on the magical war and find out her source.

Sydney Blair is a firecracker reporter who will stop at nothing to get to the story. Her new photographer Caden, she sets off for a new story. A diary that grants all of your wishes. Though she wishes that's all she has to deal with, for she has fallen for Caden hard.

Now that Caden knows that Sydney has the diary it should be easy to stop her right? Wrong. He falls for her too but because of his past and his magic he tries to stay away from her, keep her at arms length. He gets fired from the job but still tries to get to Sydney. If she divulges the whereabouts of the diary could mean impending doom. Not only for her, but magic kind. With everything turning violent so quickly Caden know has to choose his destiny. Will he become the wizard everyone knows he could be or will he just turn away and run?

This is the second book in the Doomsday brethren series and I got to say it was pretty good. Not only do we learn about Caden and Sydney, there are minor stories through the whole book, that builds up everything. We learn about Bram, Sabelle (Brams sister), Ice, Shock, Lucan, Marrok, Olivia and Duke. Not only that but we find out more about Mathias and what he's capable of. This book is a four!!

The second book in the Doomsday Brethren series. Caleb wants nothing to do with his magical heritage but, with his brother sick he has to embrace his past and convince a reporter to tell him her source from an expose on the supernatural. When he discovers that she is in possession of the powerful Doomsday Diary he must get her to believe that what she has been writing about is real and that she is in grave danger.

What I liked - I liked the quick pace of action, and I liked the spicy sex scenes, they were good without being over the top.

What I didn't like - Not to much, I found it to be what I consider a good paranormal romance. 50/1000

This series by SB is about magical beings and their fights within their own magickind. The characters are good and the plot goes along at a good pace. There's a love triange here and it should be interesting to see how it plays out in future books. Personally, I prefer Anka to be with Shock, but hey ... Not bad for a quick weekend read.
