From the Publisher

The irresistible heroine of Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Ties the Knot is back! And this time Becky Bloomwood and her credit cards are headed across the Atlantic.…

With her shopping excesses (somewhat) in check and her career as a TV financial guru thriving, Becky's biggest problem seems to be tearing her entrepreneur boyfriend, Luke, away from work for a romantic country weekend. And worse, figuring out how to pack light. But packing takes on a whole new meaning when Luke announces he's moving to New York for business-and he asks Becky to go with him! Before you can say "Prada sample sale," Becky has landed in the Big Apple, home of Park Avenue penthouses and luxury boutiques.

Surely it's only a matter of time until she becomes an American TV celebrity, and she and Luke are the toast of Gotham society. Nothing can stand in their way, especially with Becky's bills miles away in London. But then an unexpected disaster threatens her career prospects, her relationship with Luke, and her available credit line! Shopaholic Takes Manhattan-but will she have to return it?

    Characters not-so-great 3

It really wasn't a bad book. Definitely didn't end the way I expected it. The story was great and very well written. The problem I found was the characters. Becky just seemed really dense. The trait in the previous book made for the great story, but now that readers know that she has a degree in accounting and business the whole idea of her not knowing how to manage her money made me dislike the character a bit. I am very glad she found her true calling at the end though. Luke was… read more

Right where we left off.... 4

The [Shopaholic] story continues right where we left off; still getting herself further in debt, daydreaming, and now - NYC! Not as good as the first, but I still enjoyed reading further about this character and all her mishaps. Can't wait to read the next one!

If you havent read any of the Shopaholic books - stop what you are doing and go get them! They are laugh out loud funny and so endearing. I find myself anxiously waiting for the next book in the series so I can find out what Becky is up to!

Bridget Jones meets Carrie Bradshaw 4

This review is from: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (Trade Paperback)

Shopaholic Takes Mahattan is laugh out loud funny. It is like taking the Bridget Jones' world and mixing it with the Carrie Bradshaw world (Sex in the City). Becky Bloomwood is a 26 year old shopping maniac. When she discovers New York there is no stopping her! From buying an office shredder to a cocktail dress worth thousands of dollars, she keeps you laughing. Great read from Sophie Kinsella, who showed me you haven't lived till you've shopped in Manhattan!

Funny but not as good as the first one. It's still a great book and Becky just gets better!
