Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule, two marshals take a ferry from Boston
to go to Shutter Island, place of a psychiatric hospital, where we
can find dangerous patients. The marshals were called to the island
to investigate the disappearance of a patient, Rachel Solando. This
lady could have killed her three children. In her cell, only a
sheet with numbers and words without meaning, which are similar to
codes, was found. Teddy believes that a character named Laeddis is
on the island and he's convinced that this person have killed his
wife, Dolores, in a recent fire. After several searches, Teddy
wondered if there was no presence of a conspiracy between the
employees and the doctors of this hospital. The discoveries that he
will make will allow us to understand that this whole story is
actually fiction. Teddy Daniels, patient of the hospital Aschecliff
is actually Andrew Laeddis, a man who killed his wife because she
had killed their children.
Shutter Island is good book because it has a good suspense that
make you want to know the end. You get attached to the character of
Teddy Daniels because of his hard childhood after the death of his
father. It can be considered as a violent book and it's not easy to
understand so the target audience is older teenager 17 to 25 and
adult.
