    Essential Reading
    I'm surprised more people haven't reviewed this book. I took it to Asia with me and over five months read and re-read this book three times. I'm not finished re-reading it. I have (not steadily but regularly) read books on Zen since I was 17. I'm now 63. This is the most accessible book on Zen and practice I have ever encountered. I cannot recommend this book enough. Now...I'm going to purchase his first book.

    I am relatively new to this study, but so far the limited reading that I have done has been too shee shee foo foo to strike home. Warner's perspective however, as described through Dogen's writing, drops a bomb through much of the other crap on this subject. If your interested in Buddhism, this is worth a read. I am going to pick-up his first book, Hardcore Zen. *Main negative: Cool down on the asterisks already/ put them in the main text in brackets if you have to/ they're distracting.
