I read this book along with my husband. One of the benefits is that it is a VERY humorous look at fatherhood, which helps to keep the material interesting. My husband did say, that he wouldn't have read it if it were boring. We both felt that it lacked material on how to take care of the baby after it is born. It was mostly a very detailed look at pregnancy through a man's eyes.

Looking for information on being a new father, besides all the repeated information on the internet, I picked up this book. I found the book lacking in content and a very disorganized read. I am going to return the book for store credit tomorrow.

This book is probably the most real look for those who are entering the world of fatherhood, for the first or fifteenth (although I hope not) time. Peter Downey manages to give good insight into all areas of the process, from conception, to latenight feedings and beyond. This book is a must read for anyone who is wanting to father, or is already a father.

There was more useful, real-world information in this book than any 5 of the books written specifically for women. It rings true as being written from experience, but there is enough tongue-in-cheekedness to serve as a reminder to approach fatherhood with a sense of humour. The author's background as an Aussie doesn't seem to hurt either.

This was definitely an enjoyable book. It was a good combination of information and humour. It gave the reader the sense that they aren't the only ones going through the process, and understand what their wives are dealing with. It's a great overview of the process from conception to the new beginnings of your newborn's life. If it's technical and medical information that you require, buy a text book. But if it's an understanding and appreciation of becoming a Dad, then this is a great place to start!
