Something Blue: 4 CD's, 5 Hours

by Emily Giffin
Read by: Jennifer Wiltsie

Macmillan Audio | June 1, 2005 | Audio Book (CD)

From the New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed comes a novel that shows how someone with a 'perfect life' can lose it all-and then find everything.

Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life.  Never mind substance.  Never mind playing by the rules.  Never mind karma.

But Darcy's neat, perfect world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane "good girl," steals her fiancé, while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.

Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.

Something Blue is a novel about one woman's surprising discoveries about the true meaning of friendship, love, and happily-ever-after. It's a novel for anyone who has ever, even secretly, wondered if the last thing you want is really the one thing you need.

I liked this one more than the first one (Something Borrowed). I liked reading from Darcy's the point of view in the second book. They should also make a movie for this one. Will definitely see the Sth Borrowed movie. I would recommend this for ppl who want a light summer read!

so it was better than the first book. however the turning point for this character happens so quickly. the book builds up to it and then she has a light bulb moment then just like that she changes. I like books about pivotal life moments but this one just was too convenient. happy our heroine did change though and it was entertaining to read.

At first I was a bit put off with reading about Darcy. But this book was a million times better than Something Borrowed. I love Darcy, I love her story, and I love who she becomes.

    Interesting turn of events

After reading "Something Borrowed" I never thought I would like Darcy. She was always the girl I couldn't stand being around back in highschool. But throughout "Something Blue" it was really nice to see her character developing into a mature woman, finding true love, something that wasn't just "looking good on paper." And Ethan, wow, who DOESN'T love him after reading "Something Blue"?!?!? It's an engaging read, definitely. Now on to read Baby Proof!!!

"Page-turning, heartbreakingly honest."-Entertainment Weekly, Grade A
