    Disappointment
    Brave dog, wonderful reunion, but not enough to support a book. I found myself skimming the pages to grasp the outline of the events, not interested in the owners' tearful moments, while I sympathize. Too many of the facts of Sophie's survival are unknown, too much of the book's content is simple conjecture on the author's part. The author could have used the platform to explain more about the region, the islands and their history, flora and fauna, the efforts of the rangers to preserve the islands indigenous inhabitants, a missed opportunity.

About the Author

Emma Pearse is an Australian journalist who lived in New York for over ten years, where she wrote for New York  magazine, the Financial Times, and The Village Voice, among others. Emma lives and works between Australia and New York. This is her first book.
