Succubi Like It Hot

by Jill Myles

Pocket Star | January 19, 2010 | Mass Market Paperbound

Jackie Brighton's life as a succubus is going great: she's gone from mousy to bombshell, and although she has to have sex every forty-eight hours or die, she has two hot guys-the vampire Zane and the angel Noah-to scratch her Itch. But then her Itch accelerates to every twenty-four hours, and she's suddenly waking people's unconscious just by touching them. Something's out of control so she and Remy, her mentor, go on an adventure-filled road trip to New Orleans to consult with the oldest succubus in the United States. Jackie learns she's been cursed by a vampire queen-and reversing the curse demands a price she's not willing to pay.

The second book in the Succubus Diaries. In this one Jackie and her adult film star friend Remy, both are succubi, are on a road trip to New Orleans with Zane, Jackie's vampire lover.
I found this one was more funny and entertaining than the first, and I really like the way the author keeps the constant love triangle between Jackie, Zane and Noah going. 81/1000

I was excited to read this book after consuming Gentlemen Prefer Succubi.
My only hope for Succubi Like it Hot was that is would not have the inconsistencies that the first book had--it didn't!
However, I am left with unanswered questions. The third book in this series is supposed to be, I'm told, set for sometime in 2011. There are SO many things I want to know, I hate waiting that long just to find out a few simple things about stuff that happened in this book.

Jackie continues to grow and mature, and even though she is an independent woman, she didn't make any stupid decisions that would put herself or others in danger.

Contrary to what the first reviewer on this page had stated, there is NOT a lot of sex. There is a great shower scene, but the amount of sex scenes were minimal. That doesn't mean it wasn't a sexy read, though. It was indeed a sultry and satisfying book.

One of the things I look for when I read a story are the emotions that I get out of it. There are two scenes that nearly had me in tears. I felt first the anger, and then the sadness that Jackie experienced. A very well done to the author for making me feel that much. Right on :-)

Succubi Like it Hot was awesome. It was entertaining from the very first page, I never wanted to put the book down, and I hope everyone reads it. But first, read Gentlemen Prefer Succubi.

Take a little romance, a LOT of sex, stir in a heaping helping of jealousy, a handful of requisite evil villains, sprinkle with various supernatural elements and cook until done, and what you have when it's finished is a side-splittingly amusing take on the succubus myth.

I sucked down these books just like the heroine sucked....well, I had better not finish that sentence because this IS a PG audience after all! Suffice it to say that I devoured both of these books in a day each and as soon as I finished the second one, went back online to see if there is a release date scheduled for the third installment.

    Well worth reading!
