    Like Where It's Going

This is the second book in this series and I really like where this series is going, I really liked this book and I look forward to more of the series. I still really like Georgina as a character as well as Seth I think it's great their trying to work things out. We had a new character come in and I love him, he is another Incubus named Bastien I hope we see him in future books. Overall this was a great book and it shows Richelle Mead's talent that she can write multiple things. :0)

Oh my, Richelle Mead! Talk about cranking up the heat!

A large portion of this story consists of us seeing Georgia do what she is good at and has been perfecting for several hundred hears: seducing men and enacting carnal pleasures. I have to say that Mead kicked it up a few notches with this second novel in the Succubus series, so be warned before delving in. It's fairly graphic (and steamy!).

That, of course, doesn't stop the book from being fantastic, and Georgina being entertaining as hell.

The idea of us readers rooting for the bad side is rather ironic... but Georgina helps to balance that out with rather good intentions. She's a great example of balance, as it seems the good side is not always 100% pure (hello, Carter!), and those on the bad side often find themselves doing things that inevitable tip the scales in favour of mankind's well-being. I just love that aspect, even though we know that despite who her bosses are, Georgina's not entirely working for the dark side and there may be bigger plans in store for her.

I am intensely looking forward to how Seth and Georgina will continue their relationship. There are definitely some boundaries crossed here with major issues raised for the two of them... but I'm also hoping there won't be some convenient write-in that will solve all their problems. The sexual tension between them is good (and thick), but will it last? Can the two deal? Quite an interesting take on male/female platonic relationships.

Not as good as the first book

Something happened while I was reading this book. You see, I started off really liking Georgina. I enjoyed her a lot in the first book, but that really changed with this one. By the end of Succubus on top I had a real big problem with Georgina. I don't know if it's the fact that she smokes drugs, or is a habitual cheater, but I don't like her anymore.

I'll tell you what I mean about the cheating. Before she became a Succubus she cheated on her husband. Thats why she became an immortal. Her actions put her husband into such a depression that he nearly killed himself. In order to save him any more pain, she sold her soul. In return for wiping her memory away from her husband, she would become a Succubus. Cheating on her husband is something she showed a lot of regret for in the first book. So, why did she cheat on Seth?!?! It's understood that she must sleep with mortals in order to survive, however, when she slept with one of her immortal friends it was NOT to compete her Succubus duties.

I'm trying to remember that even though Succubus on top is sold in the romance section, it is not a romance. Otherwise this book would be a big fat F for the cheating alone.

All of the players from Succubus Blues are this book, and that made me happy. I liked all the secondary characters, and I'd like to see them again in future books.

I'm going to give Succubus on top a C+. Getting past my issues with pot smoker/cheater Georgina, I did like the story. It wasn't as interesting as the first book, but it did have some mystery to it. The take down of an immortal bad guy, as well as helping an Incubus to take down a righteous annoying mortal.

I look forward to seeing what happens with the relationship between Georgina and Seth. Personally, I think he is too good for her.
