Angelina is the younger sister of Micah's former menage partner and she is tired of him only seeing her as that. She has had a crush on him for a long time and she is ready to let him know it, no holes barred (pun intended). This is the fourth in the authors sweet series and the first one that I have read. I do feel that I missed some information about the secondary characters in this book, but I didn't have any trouble following along. The fact that Angelina is being chased around the country by a crazed stalker kind of takes a back seat in this one, it's more about the sex. A good story line with interesting characters and of course hot sexy menages with a little bondage for fun. 113/1000

Sweet Temptation is the fourth book in Banks' Sweet series. I love the characters in this series and was looking forward to Micah's story. Micah has been there since the beginning, always on the sidelines but a great character nonetheless. You just knew there was more to his story. Wow, was there ever. Micah left behind his life in Miami when his wife and best friend were killed in a car accident - a fact he hasn’t shared with his new friends. So, when Angelina shows up no one understands what’s going on. The fact that he had compartmentalized that part of his life so much showed how upset he was by the past and that he was still running from it, but he couldn’t run with Angel right in front of him. Angel shows him how much she loves him by truly understanding what he needs - maybe even more than he does. If I had to describe Sweet Temptation in only one word it would be Intense. The strong BDSM flavour may make this story not for everyone. It's almost as if Banks is enjoying taking readers screaming past their comfort zone. There are some pretty hardcore scenes that are a vivid depiction of that alternate love style/kink. Micah has a lot to learn and Angelina is an extremely capable teacher. I enjoyed this book.....but....I found it lacking in some ways. Perhaps I am at a disadvantage when it comes to Sweet Temptation because I am not well-versed in the psychology of a submissive. To me, Angel's reason for allowing herself to be passed around for Micah's friends to do as they will is pretty sad. Throughout everything, she comes off like someone so desperate for love that she allowed herself to be passed on from man to man. Perhaps this is indeed how a submissive thinks? I don't know. To my unfamiliar eye, I see a misguided woman being used and passed around, and I can't say I find the whole thing romantic. I think it would have helped if Micah had exhibited a greater degree of tenderness toward Angel. It is only very late in the story when some calamity befalls Angel that he realizes that he loves her and wants a more conventional relationship with her. Love comes into play only in the last dozen or so pages of the story, and for me, the whole "I love you" thing felt like a last minute addition to allow this book to be marketed as an erotic romance. On the bright side, the erotic scenes are actually very steamy, even if the whole "let's gang bang the heroine without asking her for her permission" premise wasn't really my thing. As erotica, it is a dark and often intriguing - if uncomfortable - look into the world of BDSM and group sex. But as a romance, especially one featuring a hero that is so different from the fellow he was in previous related books in the Sweet series, this one is very lacking in the TLC department. All things considered, I enjoyed Sweet Temptation. Maybe not as much as previous books in the series, but it was entertaining to say the least. It's just too bad that Banks has focused more on the erotic aspects of this story and provided too little romance to balance out the whole thing. 2010-102

Micah is a character that has many layers, but when Angelina comes back into his life you begin to understand Micah. Angelina has loved Micah but knew he was not ready for her yet, and when she does decide that he might have finally moved on from the death of his wife and best friend, she goes to him. Micah meets Angelina, his dead best friends sister, in the very last place he thought she would ever be and before he knew who she was he was more attracted to her than any other woman before her. Angelina knows who she wants and plans to go after him with everything she has, but Micah doesn't really see her other than her brother's sister, but when her stalker catches up with her and then takes her, Micah soon realizes his true feelings for her and will do anything to get her back and keep her.

If you are into kinky sex and more erotica than romance this book is for you. While Maya Banks has been branching into the romance genre she still holds onto to her erotic sex scenes (unlike some authors who lost them when they made the transition) and, let's be honest, sometimes that is just what you want to read. Unfortunately, she lost a bit in the plot and relationship aspects this time so it only rated a 4 for me.
