These three characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and, ultimately, into each other''s lives. What happens then? As Kate DiCamillo would say: Reader, it is your destiny to find out.

This book was just fantastic...Kate DiCamillo writes in such a unique and charming voice that it just invites you into the story. The Tale of Despereaux is the story of an extraordinarily small mouse who falls in love with a princess and the consequences of such a relationship. The tale is a simple one but again DICamillo's literary voice is so magical that the tale just leaps off the page into your heart. The story is great for parents to read together with their younger children or for older children looking for a bit of magic in their stories. Just fantastic!
