    Excellent, but lacking.

This book was excellent. I read it last night and went:
"I want to read more... but by the sounds of it this was the last book... damn..."

Yup, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If nothing else I suggest you read it because it's entertaining to see a 14 year old Artemis Fowl deal with his 10 year old self. Besides, Artemis is developing a conscience, a surprising the development that makes the story much more interesting.

Basically a must read for anyone who has read the other books.
For those of you who haven't: I suggest you start.

My only complaint is that the Artemis Fowl series is found in the 'Fiction 9-12' section. Personally I don't think it belongs there and I felt quite self-conscious walking into that section to find this book. But, in the end, it was worth it. The book is excellent.

(However, I also don't believe that this was the strongest book in the Artemis Fowl series. It may have been excellent, but I found that something was missing.)

Not living up to the series..

I am a HUGE Artemis Fowl fan, and knew I had to pick up this book as soon as I could. As I read this book, I constantly found it a drag, as most of the first half the book was somewhat slow. It didn't feel like the first 5 Artemis Fowl books; you will see that some of our favorite characters will be playing VERY [and I emphasis very] minor roles, and not as much of the Artemis Fowl "planning and executing" is seen (not as much as its predecessors). I forced myself to finish the book, but in the ending, I was pretty satisfied. This is all in my opinion, but hey; if you're a FowlFan, this book is a read for you.

Ah Artemis, how I wish you were real! The more books that get added to this series, the more, and more I enjoy them! Eoin Colfer may be writing for kids, but I still really enjoy these reads - there is always something exciting to be found in their pages.

Time Paradox is no exception to the series. Colfer has constructed a wonderful story with all sorts of interesting loops and twists - and not just in the fabric of time.
The characters are masterfully developed and well rounded. I enjoyed seeing how Artemis has changed so much since the original first book.
I wonder how much of a regular character Opal is going to become though - there is only so many ways you can re-use a character after they've outright lost.

Certainly worth the read, for everyone young and old alike.

Artemis Fowl was always a genius. Now fourteen (seventeen if you count the three years he missed during his time travel in Limbo), his mother is ill with a disease even the best doctors from around the world cannot diagnose, let alone treat. He seeks the help of his fairy friends, only to learn that the cure lies with the silky sifaka lemur, a species whose extinction he was responsible for.

The solution? To travel almost eight years back in time, of course, with the help of some fairy magic. However, the time paradox is a leering side effect and retrieving the lemur requires outsmarting the colder, unemotional, 10-year-old version of Artemis.

Like the other books in the series, The Time Paradox is action-packed and keeps readers on their toes for sudden plot twists. Eoin Colfer's genius is demonstrated once again with a marvellous instalment to the series that is both original and utterly fascinating.

The characters are likeable, as I found myself yearning for the techie and inventor centaur Foaly's presence during most of the novel. Artemis and his fairy friend Holly face numerous near-death experiences from the adversity of precisely everyone in the past. With only each other to help save the lemur in time, the options available to them are scarce and along with that, the options available to the future of the world.

The book is listed as appealing to children between the ages of 10 and 12. Regardless of one's age, Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox is sure to enthral.

The Artemis Fowl series is honestly one of the most intriguing series that I have read. I started this series when I was in 7th grade, and now entering my 1st year of university, I can still say the same thing. Even though this series is found in the children's section, I would recommend it to anyone. Eoin Colfer has created some of the most interesting characters in Artemis Fowl, LEP Recon Captain Holly Short, bodyguard Butler, kleptomaniac dwarf Mulch Diggums and even the centaur Foaly. Not only were they colourful characters to begin with, but over the course of the series, they've evolved in very cool ways, and I would still recommend this book to anyone who is even remotely interested in fantasy. Even if you're not into that sort of thing, then you should still read this...maybe you will be!

    A Hands-Down Favourite

    Kylie Moran

I approached this volume a little reluctantly at first, influenced by one or two disappointing reviews -- but as the rating of this review indicates, my expectations were brilliantly exceeded. This is the talented Colfer at his finest, and he jumps right back into the good stuff a mere few chapters in: one mysterious illness kicking off the countdown to catastrophe and our favourite heroes are forced into a (not so little) jaunt back through time, not without the expected humor and hairpin plot twists, of course.

It would be an understatement to say that The Time Paradox was a pleasure to read, jam-packed as it was with action, romance (really! I was a little skeptical about this at first, but Colfer had me warming up to it as it moved along), adventure and a guest-spot for (most) of the story's beloved characters -- even the dearly departed ones.

One kiss, a life-saving lemur, bad breakup-esque bickering, 2 Artemises and 2 Opals, a diamond rain, one exotic and endangered stampede and a pell-mell chase through the skies all feature within the 390 pages.

Besides, Artemis as the reluctant action hero is not to be missed. Seriously.

    Another great AF Book.

A great addition to the Artemis Fowl Series! I enjoyed reading it a lot, and it is certainly interesting to read. The Paradox revealed at the end was especially interesting (I found it so at least). There were a few negative points however. There weren't nearly as many laugh-out-loud moments as in the other books (there were, for example, no smiling, happy-to-see-you rear-ends) and the characters introduced in the Los Colony played very little part in the story (I would have liked to have seen more of them, especially since there won't be another AF book for several years)
Despite this, I must congratulate Eoin Colfer for successfully writing a time-travel book, without contradicting himself every three words. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I feel that other Artemis Fowl fans will be similarly satisfied.

SOOOO omg this book totally blew me away xD. I Don't know what I was expecting but it exceeded my wildest dreams.... I hate spoilers so I'm not going to do that =) Just a little blatant advertising for this book here. GO READ IT NOW OR THE POPPLED PEPPLED POPPERPEPPS WILL EAT YOU. Okay not really... *cools off*. But seriously this is a book worth buying. The series only got better as it went on and this book does not leave the reader disappointed in the action category. With buckets full of humor this is a must read.
