This is the first installment in Melissa de la Cruz's novels about the au pairs of the Hamptons. The series starts with the three main characters in high school and they have been hired to be au pairs for a weathy family in the Hamptons. The girls are up to all kinds of mischief and it makes for a light read that is quite enjoyable!

When I first picked up this book, I wasn't to sure what to think. Sure, the back sounded great but the first page or two sounded kinda boring. But I thought, hey, what do I have to lose? I can return it. So I bought it and it turns out, it was an awesome book. I even came back and bought the second one. They start out boring, but they get exciting. Sure, they may not be like regular teen life...But they are still dramatic.

I thought this book was going to be better than it was. I was kind of disappointed. It wasn't until near the end of the book that it got really interesting. I wouldn't really recommend anyone to buy this book. There's better ones out there.

When I fist picked up this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. A lot of thoughts crossed my mind but I wanted to try something new. And I have to say I am glad I did. This book was excellent. It was scandalous, interesting, funny, sad and a whole bunch of emotions. It is a great read for the summer. Once you start reading it, you will not be able to put it down. You grow so attached to the characters (Mara, Eliza and Jacqui) that you start to thinl they are actual people. I give The Au Pairs 5 stars!! Go and buy it Today!!

What more could a girl want then hot guys, late nights partying and tons and tons of shopping! This book has it all - I wish I was an Au Pair in the Hamptons for a rich rich family!! There are three books in the series, and they were all great, fun summer beach reads!!

I saw this book the other day, and bought it, thinking it would be something else entirely.
Now, I know this book is written for teens (now I do) and some of what goes on in it, I would be greatly disapointed in my two teens if they did that.
Anyways, that aside, I found this a really interesting read, and I really think my 16 yr old would like this book. I have set it aside for her to read, and have bought the 2nd one in the series too. I am looking for the 3rd, though it wasn't in my local chapters when I was there yesterday...will try another one later this weekend.

When I picked up this book and looked at the reveiws on inside cover and i saw for the fan of gossip girl i knew i had to read it. So i pretty much finished it in about two days reading on and off, and i absolutly loved it!! I'd have to say though it's basically a teen read, or if you like gossip girl, or even the oc, or if your just into reading about the rich, skinny, and famously beautiful this is the book for you.

Right away you can figure out the 'types' of girls; there is the goody-two-shoes, the little rich girl and the slut. The book is quiet obvious, with a little bit of humor. It wasn't shocking or anything, read this if you want to, not the best book

This book was amazing, I stayed up all night to read it, it was the best, at first it was a little confusing, because we are learning about everyone but once you get that this book is honestly the best book ever, I kind of feel bad for the outsider Mara, well u might not know her because u didn’t read the book, she’s stuck taking care of all the kids, well in the end they are all really close, after I finished this book I couldn’t wait to start the second one, once I finished the second I couldn’t get enough I want to read all the books that can be possibly made, Melissa de la Cruz is the best author in the world.

OMG!! the au pairs was suchh a goood boooklI couldnt put it down i sarted like on pg 20 and an hour later i was like on 286.
I recommend all teenage girls to read this book ITS SCANDOLOUSS!!Read IT!!

this book id fantastic.
its one of those books were you just can;t out it down and when you finally do you con't stop thinking about it.
you would like this book if you enjoy reading the pros and cons and all the in between of dating in the hot spots of the hamptons.

this was suuuuch a good book! i read it just when summer was starting so it really put me in a great summer, beachy kind of mood! but im sure it'll be nice to read anytime of the year. i wish i could vacation in a place like the hamptons! i cant wait to read the sequel! im sure its just as good if not better!

I've been obsessed with Gossip Girl and the A-List series for so long and I always hate waiting for new ones to come out, but now I found this series, which is just as good! I loved this book, I couldn't put it down, it's an awesome summer read. If you love Gossip Girls, The A-List series, or the Summer Boys series, you'll LOVE this book. It's a must-have.

great read for the summer.. crazzzy fun and exciting. Everyone loves reading about the rich and famous, its a guilty pleasure.. and this book surely delivers. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ this book! Top marks for The Au Pairs

This is a very, very good book. If you like the Gossip Girl or A-List series, then you will love this book. I really hope that there will be a second one!
