The second book in the Darkest Powers series picks up right where
the last one ended. and while I enjoyed this romp with Chloe,
Derek, Simon, Tori, and Rae, it was missing something that
armstrong captured in the first book. Or maybe it's just my
penchant to like the first book in a series best.
We see Chloe struggle to get a hold of her powers (trying not to
raise animal zombies), and the beginning of a love triangle bloom
(Derek and Simon are both so cute in their over-protective
natures).
I did like the nod to the characters in Armstrong's Otherworld
seresi, although the two are definately not for the same target
audience.
Can't wait for the next book to see what is in store for our group
of misfits.
