So I first picked this book up a few months ago, along with a bunch
of other softcover books I planned on reading. Upon getting home
and putting the books away, I promptly forgot about this one.
Months later, when I was starving for something to read, I came
upon The Black Ship and remembered buying it. Wow...just wow. I am
really sorry I didn't start this one as soon as I'd bought it. I
ended up reading the whole night through until I had finished the
book. It's very rare that I will just devour a book front to back
like that, but it was just that good.
Diana Francis employs some of the most evocative, original, and
bizarre imagery I've ever seen in a fantasy series. She couples
this with wonderfully realized characters, emotionally charged
situations, and a gift for drawing readers in quickly,
I've now read all 3 books in the Crosspointe series, and I ended up
pulling all-nighters with those as well.
