The Celestine Prophecy is a lost manuscript containing the secrets that are changing our world. It has been lost for generations and has resurfaced in Peru. Our hero learns about the document from an ex-girlfriend and goes in search of the document. The book is his adventures and learning experience during his search. I like the premise of the book and I even had a few “ahhh” moments while reading it. Although the book was originally published in the mid-nineties many of the spiritual and inspirational concepts are still valid today, if not more so. The one draw back this book had for me was that I found the writing style difficult … almost juvenile. I felt like the author wanted to give me this life altering information and make me rethink how I looked at some ordinary things and yet he did so in an almost condescending way. This book was loaned to me by a co-worker who raved about it. If she offers the others in the series I might politely decline.

I really enjoyed this book. It's written as a parable which I would imagine would make it appealing to a broader range of readers then if the teaching were laid out directly. It really made me re-evaluate my relationships with others and helped me better understand why I felt or reacted in a certain way to different interactions. Definitely worth a read! I look forward to reading the rest of his books.

One has to have an open mind to be enveloped in the full inspiration of this book. If you are willing, it can unfold to you an entirely new view of the world that is surprising, yet not completely profound. It teaches the reader how to be a human being in the simplest form, and listen to the world and energies around you. Great introduction into energetic philosophy.

This book has helped cope with difficult situations in my life. It is inspiring and positive. It is a must read for any individual, especially if you want to have positiveness in your life. It is a guide into nature and reality.

I happened upon this book by accident when I was at my sisters cottage, I had never heard of it or the author before. But as the book states things happen for a reason and I feel this was the case for me. I was in a accident that nearly took my life, and since then and even before that I have been questioning why we are here. Why are we allowed to love someone so deeply it hurts only to evenually lose them to death. Whether this is a new age believe or just a person's outlook on life it does give you hope that there is more to life than this one time chance. It makes you think. To those whose comments I read that were negative, maybe the writing is not up to par, all though I did not find this to be the case (but then again I am not a university graduate) it did make me think and gave me hope that we are here for a reason other than to pass through make our mark no matter how small and then move on to the next level of our spiritual life. For those questioning life this is one more way to look at why we are hear.

This book presents spiritual/new age concepts in the form of an entertaining adventure story about characters going through a dangerous journey in Peru to learn these spiritual/new age concepts. While the writing is a little bit on the flakey side, it is still an entertaining book. One of the main things this book focuses on is the allegation that coincidences in your life happen for some kind of spiritual purpose. Interestingly, when someone recommended this book to me I went to a huge 100 square foot Chapters store and realized I had no idea what section to even look for it in, but right at that moment I looked up and it was right at arms reach in front of my face. Now THAT is coincidence! This is a book that if you are meant to read it, you will "get" it. If you are not meant to read it you might not "get" it.

I have no idea how this book attained as many positive rankings as it has. You would have to be an incredibly dull person whose prior reading experiences have been limited to comic books to regard this as enlightening. It is absolutely horribly written and the author is clearly not the sharpest pencil in the cup. You would be better served by spending your $$ on any other book in the entire store. Seriously...you could not do worse. A 1-leaf rating is really not fair, as it deserves about a -6. Ordinarily I would not support burning of books but there's always an exception!
