It's been a long time coming where an author has actually kept me in the dark about who the real killer is. Second in the Rhyme series, Amelia and Lincoln are on the hunt of a hitman, they nickname The Coffin Dancer. This guy has never been seen and seems to give Lincoln a run for his money. There was a lot of airplane jargon, I could have done without, but what I wasn't expecting in the end....well he got me, great read.

    Very Good

This novel was a very good choice for me. For those who enjoy seeing both sides of the story of the cop and the assasian, then this is your kind of book. I found this at a used book store several years ago when I wasn't used to sexual content in novels so warning if you do not like sexual content. It only happens twice throughout the novel (if memory serves) so they can be missed if you do not care for that kind of extra information. The plot itself is very heart wrenching, powerful, and emotional. You think you understand but the truth hits you hard. It's absolutly great. It's a must read from Jeffery Deaver. -Keikoku

Deaver did it again. Threw in a bunch of 'red herrrings' and had me fooled up to the last chapter. I really like Amelia Sachs as his assistant. I can handle a few more books about Rhyme and Sachs the crime fighting duo.

    Coffin Dancer

The investigative partnership of criminologist Lincoln Rhyme and Detective Amelia Sachs continues. The team first met up in The Bone Collector to track down a serial kidnapper/killer. This time they have 45 hours to apprehend the assassin everyone calls the "coffin dancer" before he kills the key witnesses in a court case. Can Rhyme outwit the master of deception and prevent him from reaching his targets? This story lacks a lot of the gore that his previous book contained however it is still a well-written psychological thriller. I would compare it to David Wiltse's Close to the Bone.
