The Crimson Spell is a fantasy romance yaoi manga that is aimed for older teens. The manga seems incomplete, since it says it will be continued at the end. However, I could not find any new releases, even though the manga has been out for a long time. The artwork is good, and the story is not difficult to get into, since there are only a few characters. The story is interesting, and full of mythical creatures such as dragons, fairies, and sorcerors.

Prince Valdrigue uses the cursed sword, which once belonged to his father, to save his country. Val is turning into a beast, and the only person that can save him is they mysterious and powerful wizard, Hallwill. In order to receive Hallwill's help, Val must accompany Hallwill on a quest for a magical device.

Hallwill sees Val as a beast and finds him quite attractive. Val cannot recall anything that he does while he is a beast. The curse turns out to be more complicated than anticipated.

Thanx. I was very upset at the end because I thought it was only a one volume manga and because even on animenewsnetwork.com, there wasn't a lot of info on The Crimson Spell. Now I will be looking forward to its release! Wow, my review does not even make sense, I was definitely falling asleep while writing it..must edit.

The second volume is supposed to come out pretty soon, actually, on August 18, 2008. I have no idea why it does not appear on Chapters webpage, though. I guess it is a little delayed on its release.

I don’t think I have ever been this pleased with a manga purchase before. I would rate this as my number one favourite so far. I can’t say enough good things. Every page brings you full quality images and a story that enwraps you. If you like fantasy plots full of magic, curses, romance and pretty boys; Crimson Spell has it all!
