Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVELY BOOK I read this book when I was 12-14 years old and I still remember how great it was...spent the whole wkend reading the trilogy and could not get enough of it. This book made me daydream and even though I am 20 now, I still think about this book and some of the thoughts/daydreams/fantasies I had while reading it. Recently I ordered it from chapters.ca so my 11 year old brother could read it. Instead my 18 year old sister picked it up and now she cannot wait to read the 2nd book (on Chapters the newly published version is coming out in a few months). Although it is supossed to be a book for teens, I think anyone can enjoy this fantastic book!! Highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Captivating Although this book was short, and it's story plot was a little rushed, it still captivates you from the beginning and it takes you up into a magical world, far beyond our own, that IS magical, but at the same time, almost PLAUSIBLE. At all times in the story, you root for Aeriel, the little servant girl, who wants to save humanity, but instead, finds herself falling in love with the vampyre she must kill. The ending does come as a bit of a surprise, as far as the resolution of the problem, but you always know that it must have a happy ending.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Darkangel This book is, I would say, the best book i have read. The imagery is great and you really get caught up in the story. The author makes you feel as if you are in the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Darkangel Meredith Ann Pierce creates an unparalleled world filled with fear, heartache and romance. Her writing leaves the characters of this novel to the imagination of the reader with strong writing style that guides the reader, while not becoming overpowering. Her vivid use of imagery not only captures the imagination and attention of the reader, but tugs at their heart-strings as well. She controls the flow and tempo of this novel perfectly and leaves the reader to hunger for the next volume in this trilogy. A reader will be unable to put this book down, and might spend 6 years, like me, looking for the remaining books in this trilogy. Meredith Ann Pierce's "Darkangel" is a truly haunting and uplifting tale.

Every minute, the story carries you in its breast. You'll be dying to read the continuation of Aeriel's fate...
