I visited both locations of the Hummingbird Bakery when I visited
London over Christmas, and I was instantly hooked on their
delectable cakes and cupcakes. Needless to say, I immediately
bought the book as soon as it came out, and I was not disappointed.
So far, I have made the vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, and
hazelnut cupcakes, and the banada bread, and each recipe has
yielded perfect results (and these are the first things I have ever
baked from scratch!).
There is a good variety of recipes: including cakes, cookies,
cupcakes, muffins, pies, and brownies and bars. The pictures are
beautiful, and the recipes themselves are simple and clearly
outlined. My only question is: is an electric whisk the same thing
as a handheld mixer?
