Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can''t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse-Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. When Percy''s mom finds out, she knows it''s time that he knew the truth about where he came from, and that he go to the one place he''ll be safe. She sends Percy to Camp Half Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island), where he learns that the father he never knew is Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon a mystery unfolds and together with his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- Percy sets out on a quest across the United States to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.

Perseus "Percy" Jackson is an ordinary boy who has ADHD and dyslexia. But, one day his entire world changes. When Percy and mom went on a trip to a lake without Percy's step dad, "Smelly" Gabe Ugliano they encounter a minautaur, one of the bull-like creatures from Greek mythology. When the minautaur attacked, Percy's mom disappeared and Percy got knocked out. When he came to, people who were trying to help him surrounded him. Soon, he was told that he was at Half-Blood Hill, a place where half-bloods (children who were born of a Greek god and a mortal) trained and found out about their origins. When Percy excels at anything to do with water, eventually it becomes clear who Percy father is; none other than Poseidon, the sea god. This wasn't a good thing though because The three sons of the titan Kronos, Zeus, Poseidon and Heides weren't supposed to have children with mortals because they were too powerful. When alerted, Zeus and Heides were extremely displeased. Then wh
