good book if you want the basics

If your interested in the basic ideas behind 2012 this is the way to go! the book combines various essays written in the consideration of 2012 predictions from studies in astronomy by Ancient Egyptians and Mayans as well as modern spiritual and scientific expectations for the year 2012. I first selected this book from Chapters shelves because I was interested in the ideas that Mayans had for the future - specifically for 2012; and I thought it would be a good idea to select a book comprised of various topics surrounding 2012 to get a good idea of what is expected for the future.

My only problem with the book was trying to grasp all of the scientific words used to describe the astronomical aspects of Ancient Egyptian and Mayan predictions.

All-in-all it was a good book, but to understand the more interesting aspects of 2012 I would recommend reading a book more focused around Mayan predictions for 2012... the modern spiritual and scientific predictions in this book are VERY boring.
