Absolutely one of my all time favourites! As an ECE teacher I can honestly say that this adventurous story has been read over and over to many children. Children love it and it's a must have for any teacher, parent and child. I love that there is a hidden lesson to be learned from this story and it is one that I discuss with the children after every time I read it, and that is that it does not matter what you look like, people should like you for who you are. Elizabeth who is the princess in the story goes out of her way to save her prince and when she goes through all the trouble of being faced with a dragon and finally finds the prince he tells her to come back when she looks like a real princess. She decides that he wasn't worth all that trouble and says "Ronald," said Elizabeth, "your clothes are really pretty and your hair is very neat. You look like a real prince, but you are a bum."
He should have been grateful for all she had done for him. I recommend any Robert Munsch story they are always full of life and so fun to read. If you have not read this story yet, pick one up soon!
