This isnt the regular boring novel that every other novel is. TTW has a special twist to it that makes it stand out. Strongly recommended.

I listened to this book over the course of a week – and unabridged, that was a lot of listening time – but I simply could not put it down (or, I guess, “turn it off” is more accurate). It became, by year’s end, my favourite book that I read (or “listened to”) in all of 2005. A good portion of the reason why is the audio casting – the two voices; one for Richard, one for Claire – are phenomenal. This is, hands down, my favourite book of the year to date. Charming, smart, touching, well-crafted, and just downright interesting! Clare meets Henry when she is six, and he is thirty-six, but Henry doesn't meet Clare until he is twenty-eight, and she is twenty. Confused? Henry is chronologically displaced - he time-travels. Amazing!

There aren't many words other than "superb" or "innovative" to Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife. Her creative writing mixed with her complex plot and subplots, produce something magical, some may even argue, timeless. Absolutely amazing...a unique spin on the concept of time travel!

I've read a lot of stories about time travel. This had to be one of the most interesting and inventive time travel stories ever! How Henry zips in and out of places is so hard to pick up on at first - even though I am a pro at understanding the time travel scenarios. The love story between Henry and Clare is so intense and so real because of the circumstances. That's what makes it such a wonderful love story to read. Terribly disappointing writing framed by good idea

This is one of the most overrated books I've ever read. The sad part is the unrealized potential of the central motif - a genetic disorder that causes involuntary time travel. There are so many interesting ideas this book could have explored, but didn't. Instead, it focuses entirely on a shallow love story between two completely unlikeable characters, supported by a colourless, irritating cast of stereotypes. This book changed my life. Simply that. This moving story places the reader in the emotionally charged world of Claire and Henry and the conclusion of the book leaves you with tears in your eyes. This is a very unique book, vastly well-written. Although to begin with, the reader may experience some bewilderment as he/she falls into the story, this is quickly overcome and the result is a very satisfying and soul nourishing read. Amazing love story...

The Time Traveler's Wife is a fantastically satisfying love story that leaves the reader full of emotion by the end. Henry and Clare's love is beautiful and utterly consuming. Audrey Niffenegger weaves a wonderfully creative story full of rich and humanly flawed characters. This is definitely part of my collection of books that I will read over and over and over again, I absolutely loved it.

I picked up this book thinking it would be completely different than it was. I expected a tale of adventure and I got romance. I blame myself for choosing something so terrible to read. I really didn't like it and couldn't get into it. I read a few pages and felt tormented as I kept reading. Not my type of book. Too confusing and incoherent. I think the biggest problem was that I was expecting something else than what I got. + read more
