As an adult reader I enjoyed these books. Particularly liked Twilight and Eclipse. Found parts of New Moon and Breaking Dawn slow moving (struggled to get through the beginning of Breaking Dawn). Found the characters quite believable and liked the whole storyline. Found the endings in most cases quite predictable. STRONGLY disagree with the age recommendation that the site gives; would not say that anyhing past the first 2 books is appropriate for this age. The storyline (in particular in Breaking Dawn) is not appropriate for this age group, nor do I think the story would apply to this age range. Would definately say 14+ for the last two. Gave a 4 for books 1,3 but would give 3's for 2,4.

it weird that its recommended for 9-12 on the website because instore its shelved in 13+...i wonder why they changed it. but I agree that it's definitely an older teen book

    Emelie Owens

I was also surprised. Contacted Chapters and it is what they recieved from the publisher so they cant change... surprised thats why the publisher would recommend?

AMEN!! I don't get it either. they really weren't that good compared to.. you know, books where things happen, lol. honestly, when Breaking Dawn wrapped the way it did.. i felt like years had been shaved off my life. Thankfully the whole saga only took like a week to read. i'm glad i'm not the only person who read them and isn't crazier for the experience..

i really like the concept of the books, but some some people might like the book just because of Edward and jacob, but i actually like the books for its actually concept. which is a girl caught in a love trianlge between and Vampire and a werewolfe.

I never heard of twilight though I heard people exclaim thier love and devotion to some guy named Edward Cullen. Then I heard about twilight, I picked it up to have something to talk about with my spouses niece and in the future my daughter if she be so inclined and I ended up reading the whole series, the first two in book form, the last 2 on my phone. I gotta say, that New Moon and Eclipse are my fav's, followed by Breaking Dawn though I am not happy with the ending and "lack of action" so to speak, it was almost like all this build up and a great let down. Though it didn't spoil the series for me, maybe several spin offs can come from the series, like the Volturis, and the Romanians as well as just Jasper and Alice or Diving straight into the wolves tales. Anyhow I digress with ideas of my own. Its an entertaining read, the characters are identifiable and there is no sort of obsene writing through out the whole series making it age appropriate for tweens, pre teens and teens and further making it enjoyable for us adults!

I have a huge respect for Stephenie to write this series with such great detail...to take us away from our current lives and introduce us to a world that nobody has ever touched upon and will never be replicated...
You may not enjoy every book in the saga, honestly I thought New Moon was a little too depressing. However, this is a story that is being told and I truly think it is wonderful...
I am borderline addicted!!! :) Enjoy the ride!

AMAZING!!! Must I really say anything else?

Look, if you have not read the Twilight Saga yet I know how you feel… It took me a really long time to muster up the energy to see what the big fuss was about.

I finally decided to push myself into reading Twilight (the first book of the series) once the movie had come out on dvd. At this point I had not yet watched the movie. So I said what the heck, let me try it out.

Guess what, the very next day I went to buy the other 3 books because I had finished the first one that same day.. Go figure, my friends were right, I loved this series and finished reading it all in just one week!

I fell in love with the characters, and personally Alice is my favorite, so unique and charming.

So if you haven't read it yet, just give it a try, what's the worst that can happen?

I'm embarrassed to admit that despite the obvious lack of character development, originality and the overall whiny nature and slightly anti-feminist vibe of Bella I did enjoy Twilight. I do however, believe that Stephenie Meyer and her publishers are milking obsessed fans. The other three books are the same story and conflicts repackaged and there is no character development as the story progresses and no real conflict (I'm talking about you Breaking Dawn). It bugs me to think there are people out there who think this is great literature

Further proof of the money making schemes? The repackaging of each title as a deluxe edition with the addition of a cd and a poster which every Twihard "has" to have

Cheezie, cheezie, cheezie and cheezie again. How can anybody stand this over 4 books?? It was driving me insane. I only got to the middle of the 4th book when I threw it into a corner, being very frustrated. Disappointing...

All I can say is I really enjoyed reading these books. Although the second book ( Nood Moon) was a sad book and a little slow I still enjoyed the story. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It's got action love and excitment! this book made me feel like a 12 year old girl! haha.
    Great for all ages.

I have this series more than once! 'Twilight' was one of those books that i read through non stop. 'New Moon' is still my least favourite of the series. 'Eclipse' isstill the one I like the best for where the story goes and how the main characters evolve. 'Breaking Dawn' is almost too much in all that goes on in story & content

I will admit to being a twilight fan. You must admit that Stephanie Meyer did a good job of writing, it included romance and suspence. It was a good book, but people have gone way overboard with action figures, to living there life around twilight. I have met people who all they can talk about is the book, its just plain annouing. Overall, the over obsession with the series just killed it for me.

Personaly , i am not a fan of fiction and things like that but i don't know why but twilight is one of the best books i've read. I'm a hopless romantic so anything with love theme I really like, but there is something more about it. The author really did great because i could picture myself in the book , and not many author can do that for me. I really think people should give it a shot even if they think its for young girls only . for me it was a winner!

    Nothing Special...

    Lily Barazesh

I started reading these series because I was curious about why everyone thought it was the best books ever written... well it isn't. The first book was alright, the part that got the most excitement out of me was near the end, when there was some action and meyer wasn't going on and on of how Edward is beautiful, smells good, is beautiful, and smells good, etc...

The second book was the best of the entire series in my opinion, mainly because it wasn't about being beautiful and smelling really good. Although I got annoyed by how pathetic Bella is and how dependant she is on Edward, very sad. She couldn't move on, she gave up on everything, her hobbies include making lasagna, cleaning the house, working, studying and mopping around all day long, until Jacob came along and she learned the art of riding the motorcycle and felt like a daredevil...

The thid book was bad, because now she was back with Edward( yeah I'm not much of a fan of Edward, actually neither of the characters) and he was really controlling, and liked to watch her sleep at night. I mean she was completely okay with this guy telling her what to do, and she couldn't be with the people she wanted to be with because her boyfriend didn't "trust" them.

Fourth book was HORRIBLE, and very predictable and boring. They marry, the have the most perfect child, Bella turns perfect, Jacob becomes a pedophile and you get the picture. It was really bad, and I think Meyer ran out of good names... eg. Rennesme(sp?) haha....

In general the series didn't have an interesting plot...I don't think it had one at all, the characters are bland, flat and stupid. None of the characters had anything to remember them by, maybe Jacob because at least he didn't stalk you and was a lot more normal. For a fantasy romance novel, I thought it lacked reality( I know fantasy is not real), mainly because vampires don't sparkle, boys don't stay virgins for 117 years, two different species can't just reproduce and the book in general ruined my perception of fantastical creatures, it really did...

I would recommend it to people who want a light read, and just want a distraction. Please girls, don't get obsessed with this series, its not worth it, and i hope no one is that simple to actually believe that having a boyfriend like Edward is great, its not healthy, and not to mention real human boys are a lot better than a vampire like Edward, he's so old-fashioned.... By the way, this is not great literature, and please don't kid yourself into thinking it is, its ok, and won't be remembered a hundred years from now...

This is my opinion on the book, please don't reply to me telling me "You can't write a book so don't criticize it." Please, so you have to be able to write a book to judge it? NO.

I agree with your review 100%. My mom got me the series for Easter last year, and I could barely get through it. (Only reason I did was cuz I could read at work, and this was slightly better than nothing). First book nothing happened cept "he's so beautiful" and "she's so clutzy". Last 2 chapters had something happen. That's not a very good story! The movies are horrible too. Read Harry Potter if you want a real story!

Ok, so I know everyone and their dog has had something to say about this saga....but since I am not a fan of the whole fantasy genre, whether it be vampires, wizards, dragons, werewolves and everything in between; I had absolutely no interest whatsoever in reading this. But, finally with the persistence of my sister, combined with the general hype about it, I broke....and I am hooked! I love it! Everything about it....the books, the movies, the mere image of Edward & Bella together...and the fact that "they" are together in real life just makes it that much sweeter. It's fate! I highly recommend this entire set, even to the skeptics....trust me, you aren't any worse than I was, and you won't be disappointed!

This series certainly isn't great literature - but they sure are fun! I gobbled these books up. The steamy, forbidden romance, adventure and fantasy created an effing delicious experience.
