I'll admit I didn't pick this up until I had watched the Walking Dead tv series. I'm happy to see that the television show borrows a lot from the comics. Having already see the series I was not at all disappointed by the comics, even though I already knew what happened. The story is very interesting and the characters are well developed. The art work is very well drawn, and I like how it is drawn in black and white. This is definitely a 19+ story.

This volume follows Rick Grimes as he wakes up from a coma into a world filled with zombies. He tries to get to Atlanta to see if he can find his wife and child.
