Really impressive, this novel stayed with me and called me back for a second read. If you're at all familiar with the plight of Africa's elephants and the incredibly difficult efforts to overcome poaching and protect the vital species, this book really personalizes that general knowledge, and does so uniquely from the elephants' perspective. Touching, moving, distressing, amusing, bleak but faintly hopeful, this book deserves your attention.
