As the third book in the series, I liked it even more than the
second! This one was full of surprised! An excellent plot well
played out, and characters so completely different from one another
and completely colourful!
I adored Nessa. I thought she was a strong woman, brough up by
strong women, with a kind and gentle heart, who'd do anything for
anyone. She'd been played by someone she'd trusted, and paid dearly
for that mistake.
Jeremiah is someone you'd love and want to just give him a good
smack upside the head. He could be such and unbelievable jerk, but
even so, you couldn't help but root for him and Nessa. He, too, had
ended up with the proverbial crap end of the stick, but he
persevered, rather cynically. But he learns that not everything is
as it seems - in more ways that one!
This book teemed with life in New Orleans after Katrina's
devastation. I loved the humour and the sarcasm between the
characters, and the fight between Nessa and Jeremiah is not to be
missed! The plot was great with twists you don't see coming. I
enjoyed it immensely!
