An ordinary family becomes not-so-ordinary. That was my first reaction to reading Things Go Flying. This family has secrets, bouts of angst, unfulfilled desires, and a dire need to keep things 'normal'. However, starting with a friends funeral, all these pent up thoughts and feelings soon start creeping out, much to the chagrin of everyone. Let the fun begin! Each character lives a life unto themselves, and yet no matter how far they seem to be pulling away from each other, it's like fate keeps throwing them back together. And fate takes strange guises in this book, be it the talking dead, a philosopher, a uber-sexy first love, a TV, and it goes on... The story is fast paced, well narrated, and the characters are believable. A good read through and through.
