Sarah Selecky visited the store I worked at one morning to talk
about her book. The question I posed to her was: Would you consider
writing a full-length novel? Her response (along these lines):
Eventually, but right now I'm more comfortable writing short
stories and will likely continue to do so.
Good for readers and the publishing world because she is a talented
short story writer! Her stories are very Canadian - local settings,
people you know and live with, activities you have partook in or
know of happening around. Her characters are a good mix of male and
female, varying in ages, and relatable in every single way.
While there were some stories that I wasn't too keen on, hits
shadowed misses. Her stories will move you, humour you, and strike
all the right chords. Keep Selecky in mind, she will be around with
more to impress.
