    FANTASTIC!

After trying unsuccessfully the old fashioned way, I bought this book and trained my 21 month son in 2 hours. My 2 daughters were 20 months and 25 months and it only took 1/2 a day. Since then I tell every mom I know to GET THIS BOOK. Don't worry about the treats, it's only for 1 day and it's a really fun, special day! Moms who say it doesn't work fail because they are either so stressed about it or they didn't use the system the way it was intended. Don't believe any one who tells you toilet training is a horrible experience. It's fun and rewarding to see your toddler so proud of their new accomplishment! GET THIS BOOK!

The techniques in this book work only if your child is already at the stage where their ready train on their own. at which point you shouldn't need to be using bribes. Otherwise it'll just be an exercise in frustration...for both you and you child.

    Well worth the effort!

I have trained my 4 children using this book, and I recommend it to everyone. It's an intense day, but well worth the effort! My children were anywhere from 3-8 hrs. to train, but then they were done! So often we expect our toddlers to learn things, but how can they if we will not train them?! Although I received this book from a friend, with a copyright of 1974, it is still very much useful and recommended for today. Good work, Azrin & Foxx!

    IT DOES WORK

I bought it, I read it, people laughed when I told them about it. I stressed about it, researched it, studied it, and you know what?? It was a succes...it took me 13 hours, which means 2 days, one day of 7 hours and 1 day of 6 hours and it works. I don't know how, but I followed the steps and HE got it. He figured it out on his own and he was only 23 months old. Now he's 2 years and 4 months old and he wipes his own bottom and does a fantastic job at it. The important part is to follow all the steps. I duplicated the forms in the book, made my own on my computer, posted them on my kitchen cupboards and followed along the routine and it all worked out. The first day I was too stressed out, but when I put him to bed that night I told him we were both going to relax the next day and get through it, and it worked like a charm. If you're concerned about the chips, pop and candy mentioned in the book, then replace the treats. This book was written a long time ago. They mention those as treats, but my little guys idea of a treat was strawberries, grape, and apple juice, oh yes I did use Cheezies, because those were a definite treat for him. I've recommended it to many other mom's and they're getting ready to do it as well.

This method worked very well for both my children, a boy and a girl, at different ages, and with very different personalities. And do not fret about the sugary reward drinks and treats; it is only for a day, and of course you aren't going to offer an unlimited supply indefinitely. The important thing is to really focus on your child during the process, and don't be distracted from the task at hand. I recommend gathering your supplies (yes, treats and drinks), waiting for the day when they wake up happy and agreeable, and then make your move!! I did not use the wetting doll that the book describes. Mine were old enough to understand what was going on without it. After your session, don't cave in and put diapers on during the day again. You may need to stick close to home for a couple of days, but well worth it. Night time dryness is another matter, and that will come on it's own after the daytime dryness habit is formed. I have recommended this book to other parents with happy results; please give it a try if all else has failed.

I was appalled by this book, especially given its other rave reviews. The speed of this training technique owes its success to 'encouraging' your child to drink a lot of fluids to increase your visits to the potty chair. How? By offering pop and salty treats (corn chips and potato chips are recommended.) Rewards for the right answer when questioned about potty protocol, and for actually doing anything on the potty? Candy. This book was obviously written before parents started to worry about obesity and hydrogenated fats and shouldn't even be on the market today without a major overhaul. Your child might be trained for the potty in less than a day, but I dare you to train him or her not to expect a steady supply of junk food in the same length of time.

    It works!!

This method worked for both of my children. My daughter was trained the same day and my son took a mere 3 days using this method. That's a lot better than months and years! I recommend this book and method whole-heartedly. It is easy for the child to understand. Hang in there and follow the instructions - don't give up because it really does work. Your child will have dry pants in no time!

What a fantastic method. My son was a few months away from 3 and had no desire to use the potty and screamed his head off if we even tried to put him on it. This book was recommended to me and I thought I would give it a try. We started training at 10 am and finished training at 2 pm. It really works! He was fully trained in 4 hours. We still use a diaper at nightt time, but so far he has had only one wet diaper. The method might seem a little much at first, but I highly recommend that you follow what it says to do exactly. Be patient and have faith because it really does work! We haven't even had any accidents - even if we've been out of the house. If you're tired of changing diapers and want to get your child toilet trained then pick up this book today!

We gave ourselves a long weekend to apply the book's methods to toilet train our daughter (she is very stubborn and can tantrum) and it was a tremendous success! Stick to the book's methods and don't give up. With a stubborn or tantrum prone toddler, the process can be longer, more frustrating and stressful but it obviously works and it is well worth the time and energy required.

    It really works

My mother used this book in 1974 to toilet train me and it worked so well, she recommended I use it with my 22 month old son so I ordered it from Chapters. Sure enough... it worked! The title says that you can train in less than a day, we decided to break it up into 2 hour sessions over three days to make it easier on us. Sure enough, our son was toilet trained, with no tears, threats or discipline. I truly stand by this method and have recommended it to all my friends with toddlers. The biggest hint I can give, don't give up, celebrate every little thing, even if your child just sits on the toilet for 1 second, congratulate him/her and reward them. This makes them "like" the toilet and they will want to go back for more. Follow the book exactly. Don't change a thing, it WORKS!!!!
